What does your bike weigh?

Since we don't have enough to be self-conscious about. If you know the weight of your bike(s) post 'em! Not necessarily as a competition or anything because I know a couple members have 13-14lb bikes () but i just thought it would be interesting.

Me:
Soma Rush: 18 lbs
Schwinn Traveler: 26 lbs (in stock roadie mode) I had it down to 21.5 when it was fixed.

mikeetow 11-23-11 03:21 PM

Is that verified on a scale? Even with the H+Sons?
Wonder what mine weighs?

Little off topic; was at the LBS the other day and they had a Cervelo S5 with Reynolds RZR's. Sub 10lbs complete.
My jaw hit the floor when I picked it up

Scrodzilla 11-23-11 04:57 PM

The Kagero currently weighs 16.8 lbs.

Not sure about the 722TS.

yummygooey 11-23-11 05:15 PM

TET - 17.24 lbs

purple Kilo - 18.9 lbs

yummygooey 11-23-11 05:20 PM

I'm interested to see the numbers on jdgesus' Wabi. When I picked it up my mind was asplode.

Deademeat 11-23-11 05:21 PM

My Langster with all the bits replaced weighs about 17.9lbs. It would be lighter (considering how much I have spent so far), but my wheels were built to commute every day.

hairnet 11-23-11 05:23 PM

Motobecane roadie 20/21 lbs

Schwinn fixie 22/23 lbs

Raleigh Alyeska 40lbs

Weighed with a luggage scale from brookstone, yes even with the boat anchor h+sons.

I think there are a few members here with sub 16 lb mashes

Oof. I'm sure its a fun ride up hills on that biddy, isn't it?

TejanoTrackie 11-23-11 05:40 PM

So far with 20 bikes, I'm not going to list them all, just lightest and heaviest:

Lightest: Wabi lightning FG 42cm with 650c wheels is 15 lbs

Heaviest: Schwinn Speedster from 1970s with 3-speed IGH is 46 lbs

LesterOfPuppets 11-23-11 05:47 PM

I don't have quite 20, but I'll do the same:

Pinarello with sewups on : 22 lbs, 23 lbs with everyday clinchers.
Western Flyer : haven't weighed it but has to be up around 50 lbs.
Lightest singlespeed : Novara Aspen MTB : 24 lbs with 1.95" knobbies. Should get a little lighter after single chainring and single cog setup.

EpicSchwinn 11-23-11 05:54 PM

I'm sure my 61 cm 29er would break a scale if I tried to weigh it. Unfortunately I just have a 1000g digital scale. I weighed my other bikes at my lbs

lol
That's what it weighs with nearly empty panniers. It isn't so bad uphill because I set some good gearing 28/38/50 x 12-32. Every Monday I have the bike fully loaded (~60lbs overall) and I do fine with the middle ring. The lowest gear is crazy; on steep hills I feel like I'm going to flip the bike backwards

Dannihilator 11-23-11 06:21 PM

DJ: 26 pounds(which is light for a DJ bike)
930: 18 pounds.

dansjustchillin 11-23-11 06:43 PM

I haven't weighed all my bikes but my macaframa is sitting at 14.94 pounds right now and my rush hour is somewhere in the neighborhood of 22 pounds if I remember correctly.

vw02 11-23-11 06:50 PM

I need a scale :(
My guess for my pake is around 18-20

catmandew52 11-23-11 07:17 PM

Funny this thread should appear now.
I needed a new mouse for my infernal computator here and as I strolled up to the check-out, they had
Samsonite luggage scales for $9.00 near the register.
I just came in from the garage after weighing 3 bikes that I have not put away for the winter.
1994 56cm Fuji Absolute townie, w/axiom fenders, suspension seat post, adjustable stem, townie handlebars, original steel crankset, axiom rear rack and multiple safety and headlights = 33.5 lbs.
1968 24" Columbia, all steel everything, basically as it left the LBS when purchased new = 34 lbs.
1996 24" Mongoose Switchback MTB w/Blackburn rack, Truvative triple crankset, Shimano Deore XT components, Sun rims and Tioga 26 x 1.5 slicks = 28 lbs.
I was really suprised that the Mongoose was the lightest.

EpicSchwinn 11-23-11 07:20 PM

What store did you find that scale in? I could use one.

solbrothers 11-23-11 07:48 PM

When you say 24" are you talking frame size or wheel size?

My 1996 Mongoose is the lightest MTB I've had in stock trim. It was only 25 lbs stock, though. Parts a little less fancy than XT.

Sherblock 11-23-11 08:41 PM

Last I checked, with the classic stand on scale and subtract the weight, mine was 21 + or - .5 pounds.

Glad I could help...

Bikedued 11-23-11 10:02 PM

I have a few steel roadies in the 23's without trying too hard, and none of them are Colnagos or Cinellis. Fully geared, not SS/FG. Building up a Grand Record (75 model 531 frame) and it shocked me. Only missing tires/tubes, cables, and a few tiny parts, it was 21.01. WITH a carbon steel framed Brooks saddle too. I am going to be building another SS one day soon, which is the reason I've been hanging around lately.

Lightest bike I've sen in person, was a Cervelo geared roadie at 13.06. Just plain sick.....,,,,BD
