Also, I think it's not awesome to blatantly copy popular old bikes. Create something new.

plus i like the brazed rear bridge.

plus the cinelli is a cinelli. which is great if you like cinelli, but this one's a little more obscure. who needs heritage when you have swagg?

To it's credit, it will probably be a lot less expensive...I hope.

cinelli said they were going to make the 1a stems again over a year ago, yet they still aren't for sale....maybe this is a sign of new ones

I think it's more the fork they're using with very short legs. A fork with a bit more axle to crown distance would probably result in a proper horizontal TT.

It didn't come across as a Cinelli copy to me.
However, the detailing on it is pretty outstanding. It's engraved everywhere, if you see it in real life.
They have a few really cool Superb branded frames in the store.

The same owners of Cambridge Bicycles, which is more of a standard shop- but great service and selection.
Superb is smaller and more of a speciality place, for fixed guys. They also have Linus and the more niche stuff (some cool Japanese gear when I was there).

Would love to have a Superb frame.

^superb blows. for clarification, one guy owns cambridge/superb. but the superb brand is managed by someone else. if by great selection you mean wall full of b43 to formulas and service as one mechanic who spends most of his time putting tri-spokes on frames that they buy...then alright.

for more clarification:

1. refused to let my messenger/mechanic friend change a flat in the store when it was raining out (he was still on the clock)
2. refused to appraise a totaled bike when my friend got hit by a car. excuse was that they didn't want to get involved with insurance companies (cambridge obliged. but seriously? seriously? biggest dick move)
3. gave my friend a hassle about his russ denny frame/omnium incompatibility. went through same steps that friend said wouldn't work. suggested to crimp aluminum frame, like idiots. friend got it to work eventually.
4. 99% sure that the superb mechanic stole a campy super record wheelset off my friend's bike
5. refused to answer questions about superb frame sourcing, steel grade
6. scuffed my nos specialized black anodized quill stem while in for a bike repair

Sounds like the shop blows, which makes Nuggetross not want to give them his money. Understandable.

Their refusing to disclose frame sourcing or material seems a little off-putting. All it says on PedalRoom is "Columbus tubes".

I've played this one before. There is a shop 5 blocks from my apartment, but I hate going there due to their general lack of professionalism in working on bikes and their poor attitude towards customers. And their business model seems to capitalize on poor college students that really don't know any better.

Instead, I drove 5 miles away and paid almost twice as much just so I didn't have to give them my business.

And yea, it's pretty weird that they won't disclose info about their frames.

on the Superb website they say it's "chromor." the frame sticker says it's columbus thron. basic 4130 it looks like. this looks like it will probably be in the same quality/weight/price/swag bracket as tokyo fixed gear's s2, which is the same tubeset, lugged, $550 and five and a half pounds frame and fork. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a little north of that in price because hell, it's shinier.

it's pretty, but that seems to be the only attraction to me. hell you could get a soma rush and a prestige fork for what, $600? and then you have a heat treated frameset that looks just as nice.

but of course it won't have the cachet that comes from having a sticker on it that says "columbus."

Amen. I believe TT's rush frame (no fork) was under 4 lbs. Not to mention Soma seems to be well loved in the world of cycling. I will admit that that Superbe and their c-track knock off look really good but I don't like doing business with dicks.

I was talking about Cambridge bikes selection- they have a nice selection of bikes, lots of Chrome and MW product-which I don't see at all usually.

Superb did not have much junk when I was there. They had some aerospokes hanging from the rafters but most of the bikes were Superb and some other track/fixed as well as a lot of Linus bikes.
They had a decent selection of product, nothing like Cambridge, but ok.

My friend had his bike serviced and modified there and was happy.
I don't have any experience but the people that worked there were friendly and answered all our questions.

I find it hard to believe they wouldn't let a working cyclist change his tire out of the rain, that does not mix with what I saw.
But, if true, it certainly is offputting.

Looking at their reviews on google, it looks like most people have been pretty happy with them. Generally pissed off people are more likely to write a review than happy ones and they have nothing below 4 stars with ten reviews. It does look like they mainly have a pretty shop with walls covered in veeps and tarck stuff. Looks more like a fashion boutique than a serious athletic biking shop.

I live down the street from superb and buy most of my stuff from them, never had any problems. Vivace is supposed to be out in a few months, depending on pricing I may build one.

hahaha I do stuff like this in the BMX forum, just to get people to look at dates and not post in old threads, and it became one of the reasons I got an infraction.

new super sprint in black is all kinds of porn! They should offer the possibility of a carbon fork and put frame and fork weight at the product page...
