I see the 725 on three different websites for less than $360.

You're right but it's in the same range as the LV2 which I prefer.

Retrogression's a great store but I think if I do get a Leader, I'm gonna get it at a local bike shop since I don't like waiting for packages, and I don't know how to put it on :P

Well, here is my VISP, which has a seatube cutout. Judge for yourself.

Thats sweet but all the decals. I'd have to get them off.

I want this frame in the future, thought of getting gears for it though but currently I'm running a single speed set up on a hybrid bike.

Same, but I'd keep the big VISP one and take off everything else.

Sarcasm?
Eh, I'm just bored of it and I want to move to the next level, per se

TIL that "next level" just means fatter downtube.

Lol, I just meant like a new, better, branded frame, compared to my generic one.

solbrothers 12-19-11 12:13 AM

You better believe it. :D /s

I keep considering buying this.. it's aesthetically pleasing for the price and fairly complete.. it has a curvy big brother too that I also must confess I have underpriced desires for... probably both are junk but they look cool.

Sounds like you're set on the Unknown, but my vote is with the Leader 725 as well.

You may want to take a hard look at the new Leader 722 which has a seat tube cutout that was bickered about like a favorite toy between two kids.

Sarcasm? I can't tell. Can we get a sarcasm font? I thought they were good frames?

The 721 is pretty cool but I'd like something that curves in on the part near the back wheel. There was a word for it, I just forgot.

As with most things in life, if you don't know what it is or what it does, you probably don't need it.

AngryScientist 12-19-11 07:31 AM

$150 something shipped for frameset, i'm very happy with mine so far. just a hair over 100 miles on it after this weekend.

The older ones weren't but the new ones are.

solbros is just mad 'cause he's stuck riding a used 98cm Kilo TT.

He doesn't know how to put his frame on his bike. Duh. What don't you understand?

GMJ 12-19-11 10:06 AM

He probably meant swap frames and move over all the components.

I may be wrong, but isn't the purpose of the seatpost cutout is shortening wheel base, so you can slam the rear wheel closer to the front, making for a tighter handling? I've wanted an aluminum frame in the past, but I've grown very attached to my steel in the last few weeks. I feel like while preserving ride quality, I would rather work on a lighter crankset and a rear wheel that I can actually change the cog on. Once this thing is perfect, I plan on either buying an off-road all-weather beater, or a "nice" aluminum tarck bike.

n+1, a never ending cycle.
