The rain is the best, roadies can no longer out power you cause the second they get up to speed they crash out.

Nice pain face by the way.

What you can't see in this picture is me rubbing my legs to prevent cramping and my sweet new Lemondster socks. This was around mile 49 of 54 and I was wondering if I was going to have to make the call of shame since I had a giant hill to climb to get home.

Is that saddle the Selle Concor? I've read that it's not good for distance rides.

Yep. I don't know, works pretty well for me. I averaged around 60 miles/day for a week riding RAGBRAI this summer and I managed just fine as long as I used a little chamois cream. My wife used the Concor Light with no issues.

I've been hesitant to try one cause of the distance issue, but I like how it looks. 60 miles is a long distance for me so I get a used one and see if my ass agrees with it.

^You sit "in" it not "on" it, so the nose should be level with the tail generally speaking.

This was about 90kms into what turned out to be a 211km ride from London, On to Toronto.
This cafe is in Brampton and wasn't open when I was passing by.
Looks like a fun place. I'm definitely planing a return trip.

I usually have a couple of bags attached to the bike when I do these longer rides, but this time I just loaded up my messenger bag with supplies.
The trip was doable but not as comfortable as without the messenger bag.
Think I'll stick with the bike bags.

The Concor (full name: Selle San Marco Concor) isn't the most comfortable saddle but, by Jove, you can't argue with the looks.

If comfort reigned supreme, then I suppose we'd all be using these:

It goes 61.5 miles from just outside Atlanta to the Georgia/Alabama state line. The Chief Ladiga Trail goes another 32.5 miles to Weaver Alabama. It is the longest continuous paved trail in the US and runs along what was the Seaboard Railroad line. The Silver Comet Trail is named after the luxury streamliner train of the same name that used to run from New York to Birmingham AL via Washington, Richmond, Raleigh and Atlanta.

Silver Comet Trail Georgia - Welcome

Chief Ladiga Trail - Chief Ladiga Trail

Here is the Brushy Mountain Tunnel. You approach the tunnel on a gentle curve and can feel the cool air flowing out of the tunnel on a hot day well before you actually see the tunnel entrance.

Like any other MUP it is a love/hate relationship. Some of it is boring and some of it is very interesting. Very crowded near ATL, nice to meet people and look at the girls and bikes, but once you get past mile marker 20 it gets real rural and you can open up. I did about 36 miles out and back Sunday afternoon, the longest I've ever gone on a fixie and had that post-ride "glow" for the rest of the day.

Our club used to run a yearly POA century ride on the trail. We would ride to the Alabama state line, pee on Alabama (POA) and then ride back. It's an SEC football thing that I really don't get but 40 guys in double pacelines is what I call a good time.
