Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I Just made a >100km trip. a few weeks ago. The only problem was i had to make it quite fast, because i started about at 12:00 and the sunset was about 16-17... but it was awesome

It's actually meant to be a dead longhorn skull with the horns shaped as drop bars. It was the t-shirt for the 2005 Hotter 'N Hell Hundred bicycle ride in Wichita Falls, Texas. It is definitely one of my favorite ride t-shirts.

dam that's gotta be a thrill! I remember this fall getting going fast on an unpaved trail, thought I was doing real good until I looked at the speedo which read 15 ... was still fast for the trail and going fast on unpaved trails reminds me of my little glow plug gas powered Sandblaster model car when I was a kid. can't believe I found a picture of it

The first picture is at High Mountain Reserve in Wayne NJ. These trails are more of hiking trails and have lots of rocks so the going is pretty slow. Lots of loose rocky climbs. Probably awesome with a Fattie, but I've handled them on both my hard tail and my Salsa Vaya (albeit with lots of Hikebike on thee vaya)
The second pic is Jungle Habitat in West Milford. These trails are MTB specific and way more fun!

Bikes: officially too many now...

New Year's day ride, pre-mud. Rented the fat bikes for three days and riding the partially frozen beach with mud, sand, deep snow, and glare ice was one of the most fun rides I've done. I finally get the fatbike thing.
