^That's a great photo. The bike/landscape contrast is potent.

Bikes: Tanglefoot Hardtack, Riv Sam Hillborne, a Purple Waterford

I was exploring some trails and wound up underneath rt 287.
Ran into some very confused dudes on ATVs.
Also, turns out I need a geography lesson, New Jersey is where?

Throwback, but I thought of this one immediately when I saw those lovely graffiti pics.

I dig it Fits me good, doesn't weigh a ton and best of all it suits the kind of riding I like to do. Ideally, I want another set of wheels with road tires so that I can do both road / gravel riding but the Nano's that are currently installed work well for both situations.

From the ride last Sunday on my single speed. 35 miles of scenery like this on hard packed dirt and crushed limestone. Was a really nice ride and am looking forward to doing it again.

Good Saturdays in September

Two weeks ago, a friend and I formed a two-man relay team for Lotoja, the longest single day bike race in the U.S. Alternating segments of the course, I ended up doing 94 miles, and Mark did 112. We both got plenty of climbing. The weather was beautiful, and neither of us had any mechanical problems. It took us a little over 13 hours to complete. It was a good adventure, tough but lots of fun.

At the finish line. I'm the handsome one on the right.

Last Saturday I went with my boy, who's ten years old, on his longest ride to date. We went about 14 miles, mostly on a paved MUP. He just has a little coaster brake BMX style bike that we started him on two years ago. He's outgrown that one now, so I plan on buying him a bigger and better bike next Spring. Momma was worried this ride might be too much for him, but he had no trouble at all, and it was a lot of fun for both of us.

It's great to have a biking buddy!

This morning it was my wife's turn. She's not a strong rider, but she enjoys biking, for the exercise. In spite of chilly weather, we rode to a place for some tasty brunch, an easy five miles each way.

A good way to start off a weekend.

Bikes: steel track

Practically speaking, about as high as one can get with a bike in Seoul.

Someday take a photo looking up at whatever you were on there. It would be cool to have that perspective too.

^^ I love this photo.

The bike and location are proportioned perfectly so that they compliment each other. Neither the bike nor the location are the subject but they both combine to tell the story perfectly.

The only thing missing from the scene is me flying down that road on my Niner.
