Not me.
These two pulled a manual all the way through Times Square. Saw it several times in fact. One kid rode down Canal St. the whole way until he disappeared out of sight. This seems to be a thing in NYC. I totally approve. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1a8bf29761.jpg Sat 12/22 in case anyone knows who they are. |

Love your surly... and those nice open paths!!
The paths are a great perk to living where I do. These pics were taken on three different paths, which link together and are all within a mile or two of my house. I really like to ride places with smooth pavement, pretty scenery, and no cars. |

Yesterday our weather was chilly and kind of gray and gloomy, but at least it was dry. I've not biked much this year, so I said to myself, "Self, I better get out and do some pedaling." My Steamroller whines if I leave it sitting in the garage for too long. It likes to be ridden! I packed a snack and some warm clothes and kissed my wife, saying, "Wife, I gotta ride. I'll be back later."
I hit the MUP and rode to Salt Lake City, a scenic 32.5 miles away. The terrain is about as flat as can be, but I kept a fairly vigorous pace. On arriving in the city, I decided to reward myself with a late lunch of bratwurst, sauerkraut, and potato salad at Siegfried's German Deli. As tough as I try (or at least pretend) to be, I'm really kind of a sissy most of the time. I caught the train back to my neighborhood, then just had an easy six mile ride home. By that time, it was dark and getting COLD. This is one of my favorite longer rides, and I do it fairly often during the summer, on any/all of my bikes, with just a little variation in the route to keep it interesting. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...6159d41d13.jpg Lying down for a little rest. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...ed94d50b29.jpg Made kind of artsy with iPhone picture effects. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...1fd28a1c16.jpg The train is a welcome blessing at the end of a cold ride. The trick is carefully timing my arrival at the platform, because trains only arrive every 30 minutes on weekdays, every hour on Saturday. There is no indoor station, so waiting around is not fun. I've been tempted to ask strangers for a big hug sometimes, but I don't think that would go over well. |

wow, what road is that? Looks so nice!
Dave We rode this together but on one of our night rides. We did it in the direction toward the camera. I agree that it is much more memorable when ridden during daylight. -Tim- |

Today I had a nice 35 mile ride in the seasonable temperatures. I am enjoying it before we get single digits this week.

Boiled peanuts huh!? Interesting... I’d try em if I wasn’t allergic  |
I wasn't going to carry a rusted Husky wrench on a 94 mile ride.
It's still there if anyone wants it. Brownsville Rd., Rockmart GA, one half mile east of the Have-no-Gotta ranch. |
Have the day off today so I did an alley ride. Kindof a fun change of pace.
