Is that concrete strip a bike path across for when the water is slower and lower ? They had them across the paths at Salem lake in WS. Misjudged the flow one time and took a bath...

It could be there to help prevent erosion? We have some of those stepped concrete strips in the washes here in Phoenix.

Visited Portland this weekend (my old stomping grounds) and rode my trusty old stumpy SS up Mt Tabor in between family visitations. |

Really well. I've only got 40 miles on it so far. It's a 46 x 18 gear combo. I kept the brake/shifters and just tossed the shifter cables. I've had the bike for 15 years or more and when the shifters stopped working about 5 years ago I thought about making it a single speed. Finally broke down and did it.

Started doing weight training for the Track this week, so I've been taking it easy on my old beater.

Anyone ever notice that most people that drive American muscle cars accelerate slowly, go about 15 under the speed limit, never use blinkers, and never bother to get out of left hand lane even when there are 20 cars trying pass behind them?
|
Damn, can't believe I used to do centuries on this thing!
