got my butt on the velodrome for the first time. Had a blast in the clinic with the local group and got licensed.

Where is that located? And is it a depiction of a particular person well known? That’s very striking, wish I had a mural like that here on the coast. We don have enough public art for an art school town.

It is right on the square in Marietta, Georgia. Land of Gone with the Wind.

There is a construction site behind the fence and they let artists do murals. I'm not sure who (whom?) the subject is. There are two or three other murals adjacent. The one shown is the best IMO.

I agree there should be more art. It is better than looking at fences and walls. I'd posted some street art from intown Atlanta before. Here are a few reposted just for fun.

My uncle lives in Marietta, but it’s been a good while since I’ve been up there. Here in savannah, there is a surprising lack of it. I mean we have it, just not to the degree that you’d expect from the home of SCAD. It’s kept out of the historic downtown area for tourist reasons (gotta keep up that ‘antebellum’ vibe for the northern tourists. :eye roll: ) but even in our starland district, there’s a surprising lack of it. I love seeing work like this, so thanks for sharing.

That's right, I forgot you were in Savannah.

For some reason I brain farted and thought you were in California.

I've always liked murals. Got a lot of them in Philly, the mural arts program here is really active.

The California of Georgia is probably pretty accurate to be honest.

I love and adore my city though, it’s got a special soul. It’s everything you expect it is and at the same time it’s the exact opposite of what you expect it to be.
