Bikes: officially too many now...
Not many pics during the ride but rode 202mi over 24hrs in a local bike race. On a 90's Cannondale crit bike. All teeth and tailbone intact. Finished 1st place convoy (3 rider team, must be riding together for full 24hrs, no relay). Longest ride I've ever done and I don't imagine I'll exceed that anytime soon.

Hodges, SC this morning, on the before-work ride. I stopped to admire a lovely 1966 Buick convertible with a for sale sign in the windshield. The $18k price tag is probably fair, but I think I could buy a lot of nice bikes and acoustic guitars for that amount, and have change left over for a night out with my bride.

Rode 30 miles out to watch planes take off from Ronald Reagan, and 25 miles back. Not the biggest ride, but probably a PR. No picture of the bike- it is a homely road bike conversion.
Edit:
I have only 5 posts so here is a description of the picture: an airplane is directly over head, just having taken off from the runway in the distant background. There are no bikes.

Haha welcome BikeDodgeBall, and thanks for the detailed description of the Photo. I can visualize it vividly!

Welcome @BikeDodgeBall Your visual is a great back story for today's ride:
First flat. Roadside Assistance provided by my son. Petaluma Airport (O69) in the background. The narrow trail, following my son, but couldn't avoid the goat head thorns.

I raced what is most-likely my final 2019 TNR (Tuesday Night Racing) at the San Diego Velodrome last week. Season ends in October. I'll show up to volunteer (lap cards) or hang out but I want to take it easy. I was reluctant to race last week, but I won the final 12 km scratch race!

On my left - Wolfgang (Alex) Lochmiller - Current Junior National Champ (forget which events). On my right - Taylor Warren - Former Pro roadie, current cat 1 elite USA Crits racer
Wolfgang attacked on lap 1 as he does some times just to shake it up. Collective groans from the field (15 strong) were heard. I chased and caught up a couple laps, and we're trading 1/2 lap pulls, wondering how long this will last. Taylor bridges up and then it started to settle in that this could work, and that it would hurt starting this early...
The field got close a couple times, but eventually weaker riders started popping OTB of the field and the coordination was disrupted, and we were gone. Taylor took a couple full lap pulls which was greatly appreciated.
With about 10 laps to go we were closing in and were going to lap the field, when Taylor attacks us and goes straight through the field. There was no way I had this in the tank so I recovered on the back. Wolfgang hesitated a minute and then bridged up, but the two of them were not able to stay clear a second time. They burned quite a bit of matches trying to do that again and were understandably toasted for the final sprint, which I won outright, even though the riders I beat were racing for 4th.
Good times! I will now resume my off-season mode of commuting, maybe riding once on the weekend (or not), and doing some swimming, hiking and jogging.

This is the point at which my Excellent Adventure became a Bogus Journey. The wheels would no longer turn, I had to carry the bike for half a mile with my shoes built up on half an inch of wet clay. Other than that, a wonderful summer's ride.

Last week I rode the Great Maine Getaway to fight MS. The weather was perfect. Low 60's for the start if low humidity. I am from the Philadelphia area where we have had 5 heat waves. The ride was 175 miles and 7000" of climbing over 2 days. Perfect! Luminate: Site Not Found

That's really a great photo.
It's very uplifting.
No, seriously, I like it a lot.

I drove up to Southeast Tennessee today to explore the Hiawassee River and surrounding area.

Chainring
How do you like the elliptical chainring? I am of the minority where I like the old biopace rings. How does it ride?
