This morning. WARP SPEED https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-C...o/G0061074.JPG https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-f...o/G0061181.JPG The descent. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-6...o/G0061246.JPG The attack. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-0...o/G0061314.JPG p.s. I was riding my brakeless vigorelli (notice the squared off rear tire). Am I cool now? Jess was laughing at me spinning down a descent at ~140RPM https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-6...o/G0061703.JPG |

Can't wait for our SFCC kit to come in (just a couple more weeks!). More of SFCC member, Ryan's, Ritte: https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...15988146_n.jpg |
I took the plunge and got a gopro (Silver). Probably will take a few days to sort it out enough to get some pics on the web.

Bike camping!
Weather was almost perfect. Below normal temps and barely any humidity. We were a little disappointed it wasn't warm enough to go swimming but honestly I was glad we weren't roasting for the ride, especially considering we had a headwind getting up there. It rained overnight but everyone's tents held up reasonably well. Heading back we took our time (we were, uh, pretty damn hungover after killing 2 bottles of whiskey and I think 5-6 bottles of wine between 7 ladies.) When the sun was out it was absolutely perfect but felt like the temp dropped 10 degrees the minute it snuck behind some clouds. Pics: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-4...o/IMG_2111.JPG My bike, all loaded up. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7...o/IMG_2115.JPG Approaching the campground on cloudy first day https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-x...o/IMG_2117.JPG Our site's "backyard" https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-4...o/IMG_2130.jpg Sunnier on the second day. Can actually see Chicago skyline in the distance. https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-7...ke+Camping+-+2 Lunch break on the way home I fell in love with my touring bike all over again. She's a beast but she's so smooth and amazing to ride, even all loaded down. And gears are pretty rad. It was nice to be able to downshift and spin when my knee started feeling crunchy towards the end. Bike vine! |
I was never a fan of sunglasses until moving to AZ, now I have about 6 different pair. It's so bright.
Here's a couple from yesterday. This was seconds after reaching the summit of South Mountain in Phoenix. That's me on the left: https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...60605916_n.jpg Way down there in the valley is Phoenix/Scottsdale: https://sphotos-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/h...80541550_n.jpg |
Kaz, that's so rad!! I'd love to get some bike camping in soon.
Yeah I forgot my sunnies at home. Your options for glasses really narrows when you have a prescription. I think Oakley make a modular set, but I haven't really looked into it much. I was looking into the Giro Air Attack w/ shield for this very reason. I could wear my normal glasses and the tinted shield covers them perfectly. |

I'm totally going for contacts as soon as I get my new vision plan figured out. Gonna have to get over my fear of poking my eyes out.
