On the other side of this cliff (behind the camera) there is a spot where a bunch of people jump off the cliff into the water. It's fun but not too high. There are different spots to jump too ranging from 20-28 feet.

Looks like La Jolla Cove doesn't it. But no, it's down at Sunset cliffs. On the weekends I like to ride with my brother from La Jolla to Sunset Cliffs along the coast. It's beautiful but once you get to the PB/ mission beach area the cars get progressively more dangerous.

first day back on the fixed gear; feels so good. The wind and temperature were not helping today, only got a 13 mile ride in.

About ~50 mi this morning in 2:45 of ride time, 207w AP, about 2000kj's. Rode from my apt (Linda Vista, for all you S Diegans) up to Encinitas, and detoured through La Jolla/Bird Rock on the way back.

Ever jump into the Blow Hole in Woods Cove at Laguna beach? First time is sketchy, diving into and getting sucked down a coral lined black hole to nowhere? Once you are in though, you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's a fun rush.

That's a nice ride, I don't know the bike route past La Jolla. Is there a lot of climbing or is it relatively easy? By the way, I'm terrible with abbreviations, whats w AP?
AP means average power, which is roadie/training talk. I know no one here cares about that business but I insisted on posting it anyway because 207w is hard effort for that duration, for someone of my size. |

Past La Jolla, you take N Torrey Pines drive and then ride up hwy 101/1 up and down the coast. Torrey Pines is a mid-sized climb, will take 5:30-10' to climb depending on your ability. Besides that, it's fairly flat.

13 miles ain't bad. My rides have been that long recently because I've been riding with my brother who is new to bikes. It's a nice cruise. Cool pic too, crazy how the water is so close to the road.
Its the Hudson river greenway. Its a nice ride, especially when its not too crowded. |

I've lived in San Diego my whole life and have probably been up to LA 15 to 20 times but have never been to any of the beaches there or Hollywood, etc. That sounds crazy though, I might just have to check it out. |

Gotcha. Well I might have to try that ride sometime soon.
And it'll take you EVERYWHERE. |

Hudson river greenway |
Wspsux murrellington is correct, its the Hudson River greenway.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Did a 20 mile ride today since the wind wasn't as bad, but it was just as cold. Also, I hurt my knee doing some Muay Thai, but I can still pedal. http://i1329.photobucket.com/albums/...pskmeymv8o.jpg |
Yea, I can see that now. I haven't braved the wind and cold that far up yet this year.
Looked like a nice day though. |
