Pricing question - Jamis
Looking to get my first fg/ss and came across someone selling a brand-new-never-ridden 2010 Jamis Beatnik for $550. I can't seem to find a list price that these sold for new in 2010. It's 520 chromoly so is a step up from the 2011/2012 version which is HiTen. I'm also aware that bikes are more expensive in Canada. Any idea if this is a good deal?
Thanks!

I found a random website listing the 2010 Jamis Beatnik at $575: https://volkerbikes.blogspot.com/2009...mis-bikes.html
Edit: Is this where you found the bike?: https://toronto.en.craigslist.ca/tor/bik/2835862972.html

See if you can knock it down to $450 or so.

When my brother worked in a Jamis exclusive bike shop (yes unfortunately there was such a thing), the only people who bought the bikes were completely ignorant of the differences between a bike with good components/geometry and a Jamis. The funny part, was that the owners were too.

sweet jesus, a lot of hate on Jamis around here. I've got a Ventura road bike, and I think it's a pretty awesome value for what you get.
Maybe you guys just don't like their SSFG offerings?

I dislike their mountain bikes more than anything else. I have little experience with their ssfg lineup.
The Ventura is a pretty well liked bike, from what I know of my local friends who ride them. I have not spent any significant time on one, but most people I have talked to really enjoy them.

I prefer the older models with american classics wheelset and a modern looking crankset, I think it was the FSA Carbons (not sure).

Their bikes were alright in the late 90's. Can't say much more than that.
