+1 It's not like we can say his the woman of SS/FG.. :p

TheRealFaux 03-20-12 10:41 PM

My twin ): I was looking forward to our near matching builds

Damn that blows man. Maybe you can flip that spinergy into a new frame!

Street rider 03-20-12 10:44 PM

Epic, that really sucks. What about auto insurance? It was strapped to the car, would it cover any cost at all?

And if there was an "Awesome dude of the year" award show, Scrod would probably sweep the boards.

Scrod, you are awesome. Such an amazing thing to do for EpicSchwinn. :thumb: He's going to end up having to change the thread title, haha.

Doohickie 03-20-12 10:57 PM

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: ALWAYS put your garage remote in the trunk of the car when you are carrying bikes, so that in order to open the garage, you have to walk around to the back of the car and that way you will see/remember your bike on top or on the back.

So sorry, EpicSchwinn.... it was such a nice bike.

JesusBananas 03-20-12 11:02 PM

Well, damn. :(

You're ****ing awesome man.

+100

Also, this occasion is so note worthy that carleton has used not just one, but two gifs. I think hell just froze over.

Hothead286 03-20-12 11:15 PM

And I thought Scrod couldn't get any cooler. Proven wrong again.

EpicSchwinn 03-20-12 11:18 PM

I said it in a PM, but I'll say it again. That is crazy generous of you Scrod! If I wasn't so strapped for funds right now I'd love to take you up on it. I'll have to make sure my next frame comes from your shop once I get back on top of my money!

nite train 03-21-12 06:36 AM

epic, that sucks, sorry about your loss. once on a return trip from the states, trying to get the family out the door and to the airport in time for the TSA cavity search, in the rush of good bye kisses forgot a bag of new hockey gear on the ground behind the car. after driving a couple of miles and seeing a CCM glove in the rearview, i remembered, 600 dollars of carbon shafts ground to rubbish, shredded griddles, crushed blades, porca miseria.

happens to all of us

scrod, retrogression is my IBS for life

Ha! I thought I was the only person who did that.

BezO 03-21-12 07:14 AM

Damn!

I bet car or renters/home insurance would cover it though. You would just need the receipt or some proof or purchase.

I don't do it myself, at least not very often. I hardly ever transport my bike on my car. I ride to my rides. But when I do, yeah, remote in the trunk.

Abe Froman 03-28-12 08:48 PM

This. Good luck, man.

Sorry, a little late to the thread -

I feel for you Epic! That's a shame.

Maybe we can all chip in a bit so Epic can take Scrod up on his generous offer. I could donate a little $....

xavier853 03-28-12 10:23 PM

Missed this thread. Man that sucks hardcore. I sometimes put my bike on my "bike tree" in my garage. I need to be super super careful I don't run into them with my car after seeing this!

Sorry man

Oil_LOL 03-28-12 10:29 PM

****, dude, that seriously sucks. I always lusted after your Soma... awesome bike... hope you find a comparable replacement in the near future, but often it's hard to get over the demise of a good bike. I don't know how much attachment you had to it, I hope you aren't getting depressed or anything.

Nope, it's from a show called arrested development.

Which is the greatest TV show I have ever seen. I am not exaggerating in the slightest.

fuji86 03-28-12 11:33 PM

Use your resources, this one is as little as $ 253 delivered:

http://www.upgradecycle.com/soma-rush-40302.html

Cut back on a few things and I bet you can swing a replacement frame for a few meals over the course of a year ? Not sure what your other spending habits are, but stretch out your dollar and $ 253 in the course of your lifetime shouldn't be something you can't earn & overcome ?
