any of you ride motorbikes?

What sort of motorcycle does a Single Speeder ride?

DL1000 and a KX250 2 stroke for me.

I ride a 5 year old 125cc Korean made cruiser style bike. Its not fast by any description. Top speed is about 65mph but given that you can't ride on the expressway in Korea and the speed limit is 45mph everywhere else its perfect. Low fuel cost, low insurance cost, and if it breaks the parts are a dime a dozen at any local motorcycle shop. Already been pretty much rebuilt as stuff fails along the way. Did I mention thats it comfortable as well? :)

I've got two. A 1975 Harely Ironhead Sportster that has been completely reworked as a '50s-style bobber. Rigid frame, springer front end, stage III motor, and no other part left untouched..... Scary fast!

and a 1982 Yamaha XT550 that has been completely reworked as a streetracker. Way too much custom work to even begin describing.....

Both are just way too much of a blast to ride to sell.

Wow, you have really good taste.

I've always enjoyed bobbers & cafe racers. That street-tracker look is cool too though, very utilitarian.

I got my motorcycle license but, I'm just too broke to buy anything right now - maybe down the road.

You can't restore a bike into a cafe racer. ;)

I know the meaning of a restoration , is to bring a bike to it's orignal forme and fully functional.

the only thing I am restoring on this bike is suspension, engine except for the ignition that I switched from break points to a an elctronic dyna unit

I have owned several motorcycles over the 19 years I have been licensed to ride. Most recent machine, sold last year:

I have not ridden a motorcycle since I broke my shoulder in four places (along with other broken bones and collateral damage) in a bicycle accident in 2010.

I used to ride dirt bikes, and I built my own motorbike when I was thirteen. Here's pic I posted online way back when.

As long as we're talking about it, I've been throwing around the idea of getting into motorbikes/cycles (strictly for around-town use), partly because I'm interested in learning to wrench on motors. This bike piques my interest because it seems simple (easy to maintain), cheap, and efficient. What exactly is it? What other sorts of bikes might I want to look into, given the criteria above?

2006 Suzuki SV650 that I had the dealer track down for me new from a warehouse.

And I used to ride this for fun. Until I had to sell it for rent money. Sad day, that was.

I don't, but a Junior at my school rides a Kawasaki Ninja to school when the weather is too warm for his BMW 6 series.
