Actually, you are arguing that a SS is more efficient on rollers in outerspace, I'm arguing that a road bike will make him less tired.

You won what? A contest of bringing in irrelevant information? Congrats.

Nope. You know the argument that was presented. He'd be better off with an SS.

its not as much as you might think (12.5cm). the compact frame/sloping top tube kinda plays with your eyes a little bit

Which AL frames have you owned in the past? I'm considering a CAAD10 down the line if ever my BMC road racer craps out.

Get a used CAAD9, imho. Felt like a more forgiving frame over rough roads.

Too bad you seem to not believe in science, either. The facts were laid out, believe them or not.

Read page 3. Let me know if you have any further questions.

i had a caad8 r1000 (from 2006?) and currently own a Soul Faith w bb30. the caad8 was lighter, but they are both stiff, tight handling race bikes.

again i can't say that I prefer the blue frame

I didn't realize there was a winner, that I was actively participating, or had started it. I don't care to go back and look. Do what you want, it doesn't make a difference for me.

My commute has had gnarly headwinds lately so I stopped taking the FG because I just want to spin through it

What? It's sad that you don't like reading, because then you'd realize at no point during our discussion, were you ever involved.

Again, I only set out to prove a few points based on the following :

- OP in the other thread felt single speed bikes are less tiring to him
- geared bikes are not always more efficient, or less tiring

Both can be proven through science - and it seems people here do not believe in it. They'll just shut their eyes and ears and continue the hive mentality.

Hypocrisy at its best.

If anything, the overall tone of many posts on SSFG, are that X person's style and opinions are above another's. Claiming otherwise is ridiculous.

This is the reason I appreciate this forum - that a wide range of opinions and elitism are openly welcome.

Of course! We have a dedicated "bash my bike" thread! (enter at own risk, crying not allowed)

When my bike is complete, I will post in that thread...

If people make fun of it, I will curl up in bed and cry myself to sleep.
