scrod, what do you think of somas hellyer crank set? supposed to be cold forged and 144 and the weight on it is 600 something.
plus citygrounds has em for like 125 i think

not to side track but its the crankset ive been looking it, I want miche advanced but i dont wanna drop that kind of dough yet. the hellyer is fairly light compared to an andel or other budget cranks is cold forged unlike the sugino RD.

I have S100's (with a quieter Origin8 Beck chainring) and I can't complain. But if I did it again I'd go with S300's for the GXP bb.

i'm fairly sure the soma's are the same crankset as the iro/leader/andel, but the somas come with a fancy looking drilled chainring.

The Hellyer is the older model Andels with a fancy chainring.

thanks for the help guys. it seems like the majority of what's good in this price range right now is re-branded Andels, so I went with the cheapest ones I could find, some black All-City cranks from city grounds.

The cobra track crankset they have is cheaper and seems to be literally the same thing, only sans "All City" on the arms. Just sayin'

If you look at the website again you'll see the chainrings are different, I was told by a friend that the All-City chainring is a bit nicer, so I figured it was worth the $10 risk. Still cheaper than unbranded Andels I was able to find on other sites, after shipping.
