Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thickslick owners.......

Check to see if the tread rubber isn't separating from the casing at the bead. If it is, stop using the tire immediately.

Found this when checking the tires before I headed off for a road ride.

They are not supposed to be doing that, there are multiple spots that are like this that are bigger than the one in the picture.

More reason for me to stick to Randos. I tried a thickslick and replaced it once the kevlar starting showing. Ride quality was a huge improvement with the Rando on the rear compared to the thickslick.

Personally, I would contact Freedom/WTB.

I had a similar thing happen with a Schwalbe Durano Plus last year. I called them, e-mailed a pic of the tire and they sent me a free replacement, which I've had no trouble with.

Didn't you already have some trouble with a different set of ThickSlicks developing bulges or whatever?

Not a good example. Everyone knows not riding your bike causes tires to dry rot.

Pretty common. Not a big deal. Not dangerous. Go out and ride your bike more.

Oh, and you're probably over inflating your tire. That separation is real common on Everwear's.

He most likely doesn't know how to properly inflate his tires either.

Not over inflating. I check that stuff and kept them at 5 psi below the max psi.
