VO model 1 vs Brooks Team Pro
Hey all. A saddle is one of my final purchases. I do have a cheap Velo saddle to get me going when I build everything up next week. I have my eye on a Brooks Team Pro Classic but I'm also considering VO model 1 which is very similar in dimensions but includes bag clips and is currently 60.00 vs Brooks @ 86.00. I also have the Charge spoon on my short list but at 25.00ish it's still only a 35.00 diff from the VO,model 1 not a big deal to me now that I am in spending mode..
I have read as many threads that are out there including a few semi professional reviews for on the VO but not too many comparing the 2. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/experiences before I push the button

I went from a VO Model 6 to a Team Pro. Like the Brooks a lot better -- as it breaks in, more comfy; as I rode the VO saddle more, it got more uncomfy.
IMO: save money, time, comfort -- get the Brooks. (anyone wanna try a VO Mo. 6?)

Also in the market for a new saddle. For me, it comes down to the SI Turbo reissue, Brooks Team Pro, a higher end Si. Possibly another fizik.
I know people love their brooks, but haven't heard much of the team pro. I'd say go for it.

Exactly what I needed... a wake up call. There are many VO owners who are quite happy but nowhere near the Brooks level of satisfaction. Even if the VO is awesome, I'd probably be kicking myself for not throwing down another 26.00 for the real deal.

So the width feels better? I was stuck between the B17 Narrow and Team Pro when I was looking at which Brooks to get, the B17N is closer to the Turbo and I went with that. good to know

Glad I saw this thread as Scrod's price on a team pro is unreal and perhaps the easiest sell he's ever had.

I'm not sure. All I know is that after 20 some problem-free years riding mostly Turbos, I was finding myself comfortable on the bike with the Team Pro. So I've bought two more Team Pros since then and my butt is much happier.

I have the Gyes version of the swift, but with an anatomic cut out. (I bring it up because Gyes makes the saddles for VO and Cardiff, so I'm assuming they're all the same quality or near enough.) The Gyes saddle fits me beautifully and is pretty comfortable, but I'm worried that, since it was so comfortable and felt broken in after 30-40 miles, it might wear out a lot faster than a Brooks. If/when it does, I'll probably replace it with a real deal Brooks Swift, but I wish they made one with the same cutout as I like that (though the cutout and lack of leather might be the reason it broke in so fast and might wear out equally fast).
