Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Road Warrior Bicycles

I've been thinking of getting a fixie. Are any of these bikes from Road Warrior Bicycles worth the money, or should I just get something from Bikes Direct?

Assuming the OP is not a shill for the web site, I'd still advise staying far away from these.

I'd want my bicycle to be an excellent bicycle first. Being a fashion statement comes in a far distant last. I built my own fixed gear from my own selected frame and parts. Not cheap, but it's an excellent bicycle in all regards.

Buy a proven, excellent bike. If you want fashion over function - WallMart has colorful fg/ss bikes.

Sorry. I didn't mean to seem like I was snapping at you. It's just that when a post is reported, other mods become aware of it and can take action if carleton, Dannihilator or myself miss it.
