You can try 165, 167.5, or 170.

Yeah the last thing I need is my BB going on me. I had an origin8 crankset once with a matching BB and it wore out in a week and it caused to have an awful accident. I guess that's why I'm willing to spend a little more on a crankset than anything.

My biggest concern is my BB screwing up. After that I had a sugino rd2 crankset and matching bb which never gave me any issues. I don't run brakes and I skid.

Unfortunately it was the chainring hitting the frame.

TheRealFaux 06-08-12 09:51 PM

The omnium ring is actually quite thick, you try a different 144bcd ring.

It was more the bolts hitting so I don't think it would've made a difference :(

The omnium ring requires special bolts. I'm not sure if they're as long as road double bolts, but they are definitely longer than single ring bolts. You should borrow someone's 144bcd ring and standard single ring bolts to see if it works.

Because I said so.

Har-Har. Then what BB would be a good alternative?

I ended up posting an ad for the crankset on craigslist because the guy didn't want to take the cranks back since I had it mounted...:crash:

heh had the same problem on my affinity lopro with Campy Record Pista crank and my Omnium fits just fine so it's really a matter of frame + crank compability not just crank

Just so I can get it straight, even though the spindle length on the miche is 107mm I can still run the prototype BB or even a Phil BB with a different spindle length? i.e 109mm or 108mm.
