Japan
hey people i am off to Japan for a few weeks and wanted to know if any of you know where i can pick up a used KEIRIN frame. i have a few sources but wanted to see if any of you that have been have other sources. A specific shop or hole in the wall for instance. I am not looking to buy more than one frame. Just thought i would take advantage of the trip to buy a new frame if possible.

If you happen to speak japanese (or know someone who does) this site might offer some insight: https://www.e-framebank.com/
I think it's some sort of keirin frame recycling program.

Whoa... that Japanese site looks pretty sweet.
Babel Fish offers free translation and does a passable job to boot. I wouldn't order anything off a translated website, but it's a good way to get an idea of what's there. Just type in the URL (www.e-framebank.com) and tell it to translate Japanese to English.

From: six feet under.
The frame bank is a program to get teens (15 and under) into Keirin racing. As far as I know, you have to register for the frame, and they have to run a check on you or something like that for you to get the frame.
I know, I am bummed too.

Suggest you contact TokyoCycling https://www.tokyocycling.com/ to find an LBS where you can get an affordable Keirin frame. If you need help communicating ask for Tanaka-san at Kimi Information Center in Ikebukuro https://www.kimiwillbe.com/. Tell her that the Irishman who mostly wins at Nakayama Keibajou (racetrack in Chiba) sends his yoroshiku.
