Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Okay, just so we're clear.

You're going to call LessonLearned, who is male, a female in a derogatory manner.

Then you're going to advocate he purchase and own several pairs of shoes? An activity commonly associated with women in a mildly insulting way. An activity you appear to practice yourself.

Christ, I can't tell if you're trying to be condescending or just trying to hit on him.

Either way, who the **** wants to own six pairs of cycling shoes that use two different pairs of cleats? **** that. Let's not get crazy with the clipless recommendations. It's just one way to do something and is often not the best way for most people.

I'm pretty sure that Bat was trying to be ironic and self deprecating, rather than insulting. I write those kinds of rants all the time. Fortunately I usually just browse away from the page rather than hitting send.

Wait, clipless? Can you explain? Clipless is what? Is it the best option in terms of foot retention?
