I only post it here because I know us fixie/ss folks are the grand pubahs of finding old/classic parts.
I'm building up my commuter/tourer, it's a late eighties Schwinn Sierra and it takes a 26.0mm diameter seatpost. I'd like a non-setback one in that diameter. Does/did one exsist? I know someone here will know.

Strange size so you'll def be limited...Kalloy is one of the few who do 26.0, but all of these have some setback - not much on the Laprade, though, so maybe it'll work for you...I could have sworn Thomson would have a 26.0, but haven't seen one.

There out there straight and setback. Thomson also makes a 25.0 and sells shims to shim it to 26.0.
I have a used one form the 80's or 90's here if you want. It has some setback. Cover the postage and it's yours.

Thanks guys. I found that Cane Creek makes a shim as well, 25.4 to 26.0.
I think I'm going to go that route. Gotta love Schwinn and their occassional quirkiness.

It's not just schwinn, I've got a raleigh record (taiwan) with a 26.0 seatpost. All the shops around here that sell used stuff, all they have for 26.0 seatposts is rusty chrome. I'll probable pick up one of the clampless aluminum posts from bikeman here, save a pound...
