Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Why?

This past winter I took on two projects, I built up a road bike and converted an old road into a fixed. Both bikes turned out great, the problem is now every time I go for a ride I keep choosing the fixed over the brand new Basso Reef with full Ultegra. Am I now a changed or deranged rider? Anyone else have to make a choice?

since i began riding fixed, my Liquid 30 has gathered much dust. I used to love free riding all over town, curb cuts, drops, hops and trails have taken second to my fixed gear.

It's the sickness taking over your body. Don't fight, don't question it, just enjoy it.

I'm looking down the hole, you're looking up at me
You're cold and tired, that is easy to see
Lower the rope to you a bucket on the line
Your membrane will be soft and smooth
And your heart will be mine

It rubs the lotion on its skin
Or else it gets the hose again
It rubs the lotion on its skin
Or else it gets the hose again
(Oh yes precious yes it does)

Ooooh....

The look inside your eyes drives me from control
Evoking visions of my favorite casserole
And if I eat your heart I'll also bite your soul
And when I'm done with that I'll use your skull as a bowl

......

I hope I'm not the only one here who knows this music video/song...

Yes. And by terrible I'm assuming you mean lovely, heartwarming, and not the least bit creepy.

Naturally.

Every bit as lovely, heartwarming, and not the least bit creepy as Salad Fingers.
