So a joke about the women of the Navy being unavailable that is obviously wrong turns into fear and male preference?

shut the **** up you toilet. you're the one who said:

so making assumptions that every female in the navy is a lesbian isn't homophobic? perhaps not, but is certainly discriminatory and in bad taste. bad taste that cetainly has no place on this board, or the internet in general. perhaps you were being sarcastic, but that sort of sarcasm isn't funny when you're saying it to a bunch of strangers. and women are sex objects that are there for "scoring"? why don't you step away from the computer and go outside and play possenger some more. you have nothing to offer here.

Bikes: Yes!

Hey, as a partial female lesbian, I got a giggle out of it!

However, I do understand how it could be taken offensively.

I can vouch for Trekkie820 NOT being homophobic, and NOT viewing women as sex objects. He's one of the good ones.

NOT trying to take sides here, but Karsten jumps all over his **** all the time.

Actually, you should take sides, because I have jumped on his **** often. This whole thing was a pot shot in fun, and because he left himself open.. and no one took the opertunity. So, I was.. proactive... I didn't work very hard to resist it.

I understood his response to be a joke. I did take some offense, because he was saying something that is pretty derogatory and that he would not say to thier face. But I understood it to be done in the spirit of the banter, and thus, I didn't call him on it. Perhaps I should have, or not.

But I will say this:

I take partial responsibility because I started the jokes. He may have said something out of line, but I did get him moving. Yes, he's an adult (well..) and yes he is able to choose his response (response able), and yes he said something wrong.

But #1, he didn't mean it, #2, he apologized, #3, it's not his normal method of posting (that I've seen anyway) and #4 I think he won't do it again.

So cut the kid some slack.
Why?
Because I'm asking you too. Not that it matters for anything, but because I'm askin.

Even if he is a twinkie eating, whining little biotch.

Are there lesbians on the ship? No one asks, no one tells and that's the end of that. They are all sailors, defending the country, doing a job, making a living, and making thier way in the world. Just like the men. Just like me. Just like any other military member. So, that's that about that.

Now, can we get on with things?

All of them except the ones that didn't. The ones that didn't are the only ones that didn't. But other than those they did. Mostly anyway.

You must have been pissed when you posted a sentence ( pun intended ) like that on this forum.

Bikes: Yes!

First, let me clarify- I am a female. Partially, I am a lesbian. The other portion, of course, it not a lesbian (heterosexual). Just so you don't go thinkin' I'm partially female or anything like that. *somebody take the shovel away from me now*

I think Trekkie's comment was him reducing himself to relate to William's 'talkin' ****' level, which, outside of this situation, he would not do.

In fact, I'll even say that no harm was meant to anyone (each other, lesbians, women, etc.) by either Trekkie or William.

Upon further thought, I bet at least one woman on the ship is a lesbian. Huh.

Yeah, that's what I think. Now, pick on Karstens all ya want, but leave Trekkie alone.

so I'm gone for awhile, stick my head back in, and realize what i've been missing. Why did i ever leave? I'm gonna go fix my new road bike.

I mean this in all sincerity. I haven't laughed this hard since re-watching anchorman last night. "i'm going to punch you in the ovary. Right in the babymaker"
