Frame Advice

I have been reading these forums forever and searching for advice on a frame solution for my current lightweight single-speed build. I am looking for a 1kg frame in order to replace the Nashbar Nekkid (1.6kg) frame in my current build. Anyone have any advice on such a frame?

You do realise that a 1Kg frame is mad light don't you? You will have to pay a large sum of cash to get this sort of frame and it won't affect your ride whatsoever for something like 500gr.

If 1kg is not feasible...what about 1.1Kg? or 1.2kg?

You mean look at those girls hold on tight while the driver gets dropped liked a 6 year old getting hit by Tyson.

Scrodzilla 09-04-12 01:19 PM

The girl in pink totally gets knocked the **** out.

Crandrew 09-04-12 01:26 PM

yeah, but we got to say she lasted longer than the driver! She at least hits 3 bumpers before she is knocked out.

At least the throttle shut off before the captain decided to take a nap

The guy cracks me up. Just sitting there and then LEaN TO THE LEFT. Its like one of those fainting goats.

Is it just my eyes or is that "driver" not even real?

Just your eyes, the full gif has him fiddling with his sunglasses and what not.

Frame advice?

Nagrom_ 09-07-12 12:07 PM

For a sub 1kg frame?

um.... are you serious?

Crandrew 09-07-12 12:16 PM

Oh yes they are serious!!!

ans136 09-07-12 12:48 PM

Supposedly the felt footprint has a 1082g carbon frame...according to the specs. If this is possible...I am sure there is a frame out there that I can purchase for a reasonable amount.

Yeah, and the complete bike weighs 18.71 lbs.

Is your 15 lb bike really too heavy? Just ride the damn thing.

So if I've got an opportunity to get a "might be" langster frame with carbon fork for $70. Think it's worth it?

thank you for not starting a new thread though ;)

I do ride my 15lb bike....every day. I want a lighter frame....does anyone have a frame in mind?

Scrodzilla 09-07-12 02:00 PM

No, we don't.

How can we compete with your forever search? That is a long time, I think you probably looked at everything.

This made me laugh so hard, I almost fall off my stool. Well done.

Elbowgrease 09-07-12 03:20 PM

Thread direction already way off somewhere else, and I see no sense in starting yet another "please tell me what to get because I can't make decisions for myself/search/etc..." thread. But seriously, my only real question about said possible Langster frame is why does it have a new fork, did this aluminum frame take a hit, and if so should I question the integrity of the frame. I've also never ridden one and don't really know anyone who has. Not really concerned about getting an answer, but there was this handy thread about frame advice started.

And to the OP,
you don't even want to know what my sixties "lightweight" tips the scales at. You're probably doing pretty good already.

diff 09-07-12 03:34 PM

It almost looks like the girl in pink pulled the driver down. If you look close, she kinda grabs him, then rips him out of the chair.

Also, watch the wave jack the chick in yellow right after her face gets slammed and her glasses fly away.

Scrodzilla 09-07-12 03:36 PM

I love watching the wave just wreak havoc on that girl. That's one of the best gifs I've ever seen.
