Fenders for fixie

This has probably been discussed many times, but I'm hoping to come up with an aesthetic solution rather than plastic stuff.

I have a chrome Bianchi Pista, and now that the weather has turned fierce with rain and wet roads, I'd like to install a couple of full fenders.

I'd like to attach some fenders that go well with the chrome steel frame so I've come across these Honjo Smooths that I hope will fit the 23mm wide tires. Since my track bike don't have dropout eyelets, I will need to attach the fender stays with these P-clamps onto the frame. Last problem: My bike also lacks the chainstay bridge which the fenders should be attached to, so I need to come up with a solution for that. That is, in case I chose to go for these Velo Orange fenders.

Does this sound possible or should I try out some other brand that I haven't heard of?

You most likely won't have enough frame/fork clearance for traditional chrome fenders on a Pista.

That's what I'm afraid of, so I hope to be able to draw on some experience in here.

Those Crud Roadracers have I stumpled upon a few times, but they would look weird I'm afraid. Black, plastic and fancy shaped. I'd love to get something more classic.

Seriously. Anything using those clamps always looks rigged.

Just so you know, you can buy those P clamps in various sizes from any hardware store for 25-50¢ each.

Yeah, I don't like those clamps either.
Didn't realize they Were ordinary hardware store inventory.

They're called "rubber insulated metal clamps" and can be found at most hardwear stores in the electrical section.

Definately check your clearance before you buy as even the "road racer" type fenders wouldnt clear my Bianchi (infinito).

Thanks a lot for posting images. Pretty tight setup.

Thanks for your advice Maidenfan, I definitely need to check my precise clearance before buying.

no, its not. he thinks his pista won't let him do no handed track stands. he ignored our advice to consult with a track stand coach and instead blames his pista
