I have some $50 bearings at home. PM me and I will locate them. Free shipping only for you.

Darn, ok. What clipless pedals/shoes would you recommend for 40+ miles on the track bike.

I use shimano 105's, and shimano R087's. Love them.

I'd advise to get a shoe that uses a ratcheting system, not just velcro.

Boa FTW.

Shimano 105 or R540 are both very good SPD-SL pedals for an excellent price. I'm not as familiar with other options but SPD, Look and Speedplay all have their cheerleaders.

Shoes? The pair that fits your feet the best. Go to your local shops, try on a bunch in your price range and buy the ones that feel the best.

Meh, not too bad. I think I paid ~$120 for a pair of Lake MX170(w).

Hah, I only had s-works in mind. Good to know there are more reasonable options.

Scrodzilla 12-06-12 03:06 PM

Have you mastered your no-handed trackstands yet? I wouldn't want to use clipless unless I was 100% on that.

Muffin Man 12-06-12 03:10 PM

Go to a lbs for shoes.

Once you can do that, the next step is juggling. You really need clipless for that next level ****.

Especially if your juggling ceramic bearings. Those things are fast!

Have you considered getting into RC car racing? I think you might fit in better with that crowd.

Bat56 12-06-12 03:48 PM

oops

dookie 12-06-12 03:53 PM

if your current bearings are toast, by all means get high quality replacements. but if they're still serviceable, this is a pointless upgrade. myself? i'd do the stainless enduros before i'd do ceramic.

Scrodzilla 12-06-12 03:56 PM

Ceramic bearings are 99.9% hype. I forget what the other .1% is.

Nagrom_ 12-06-12 04:11 PM

Muffin Man 12-06-12 05:14 PM

ColonelJLloyd 12-06-12 06:33 PM

Enduro abec 3 bearings.

I doubt the best bearing without going over board is that.
