Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Nothing to with my hardness and nothing to do with the fork.

As I was walking my bike home, I thought, "Hey, I just took a picture of this bike this morning, I wonder if I would have known about this if I had looked at the picture..."

Walking my bike home.

Got home, looked at the picture. Yes.

Still a WIP (steerer, cable clips, pedals, bars/levers, cog/lockring...), but today I finally built up the steamroller frame that's been hanging in my garage for almost a year now. Light wheels (craigslist NOS QBP surly hubs to open sports) on a single speed are an amazing thing, should have thought of this sooner.

crappy phone pics ahoy!

That's right. Motoring up a hill in the deep slush and ice and snow. Snap.

EDIT - I missed that someone had already mentioned this. Phone browsing will do that.

for some reason with my fat-ass tires/dumbass coaster brake getting my wheel centered is hard. and he had **** to do, so i was trying to not take long. i already fixed it, yeah haha

plus i had just drank a 40 of mickeys and was probably paying more attention to tire clearance between the stays at the time, oooops.

Often times I have the tension set right where I want it, and then when I tighten down my wheel, it pulls the wheel off-center, and/or causes my chain to become tighter. At least it does in my head.

Going back and forth tightening each side little by little instead of cranking down one side, then the other will eliminate that problem.
