I hated rando bars until I learned how to set them up. Now I love them. Traditional randonneur bars are not designed to have the drops parallel to the ground like a classic Cinelli bend. Try rotating the bars back towards the saddle a bit and moving the levers a bit further forward and see how you like that. It really makes the ramps and flats a lot more comfortable for me. This will also make a less abrupt transition to the hoods.
Clean build; I dig it. The skinwalls are tits on that bike.
Velo Orange makes 42-48cm randonneur bend bars.

haha. yeah. sugino 75s arent stupid thick like omniums.
I will have to try that. Thank you for the advice. As of right now they are super comfy, but if they can get even better, then thats amazing. I am currently really enjoying this setup though its a tad silly.

I still don't understand why anyone would give up a name like that. It's like if Bilbo found the One Ring and then traded it for a muffin.
Oh, and on topic:

My commuter/grocery getter/errand runner.
Yes, the seat is slid all the way forward and looks funky. It works for my arm/leg/torso length - deal with it.
5'7" with "average" arm and leg length, but a short torso. It's comfy. My mtbs (my primary riding love) have similar goof looking setups.
Fun to ride, comfy, utilitarian for me. Everything but shocks and pegs.

May I ask why you removed the labeling on your stem, but not the matching seatpost?
Awesome bike though.

That's my 1974 Raleigh Professional in the snow about ~3/4 of the way through a 1000k back in October. (ride report here: https://www.dillpicklegear.com/?p=655)
A clearer picture of what it looks like, plus me with trash bags taped around my legs and plastic bags over my feet, a couple of summits earlier:
The blue bottle is there because my other normal bottle had suddenly cracked in the sub-freezing temps the previous night. I'd been out of the saddle on the climb (one of six or so on that same stretch of road) for long enough for the snow to accumulate there.
Bottles aside, the bike has Ritchey drop bars with Shimano brake levers and brakes (yes, two of them... it's a fixie, but it's a long-distances-over-mountains fixie), Open Pro rims with a Phil Wood rear hub and a SON 20R dyno front, T/A cranks with SPD pedals, a 42x16 gear, dyno-powered LED headlight that my better half made, and handlebar bag, saddle bag, and handlebar bag/light mount that I made. My trusty companion for many years.

Still kicking.
Someone I recognize finally.

I spent the past few months building this one up, and the wait was entirely worth it.
