Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

That wheel/tyre color combo is hideous, and WTF is with that stem?? looks like it belongs on a dept store MTB.

If the frame's the right size and the price is worth the frame, you could sell the rest to finance the bits to make a nice bike. Mind you, I'm ancient and conservative and hipsters run screaming at my appearance so my opinion should be judged on that basis.

Well, if I were you I would consider what parts you will need to buy to get it set up in a way that works best for you. If you will need to replace a lot of parts, that significantly reduces the value of the bike. On the other hand if you can be satisfied with it without spending a penny more on it, then it may be worth paying a little more.

You haven't said anything about the price.

Only in 2012, which I doubt that is because the decals are different.

I've been reading a lot on here and know you are highly knowledgeable. I coverted a 80's 750 Treck my dad used to race that had a full Campy setup to a fixed gear several years ago. Yea i know how dumb i was for doing it but I ordered all Campy parts to do it(so i didnt feel as bad). It's hard enough telling you this but now that I've come to my senses, I'm going to put all of the original parts back on the bike to return it to original state. At this point I'm looking for a new setup but i'm super lost. Everyone has soo many suggestions but coming from a Campy setup, I dont wanna just get an "entry" level bike. I figured I could spend about $600-$800 on a decent setup and upgrade as i go. Let me know what you think...as crazy as it sounds, I've been contemplating on getting a couple new setups cause i love the feel of the EighthInch Butcher but that would just be for cruising around the city. Def want something to mash with my buddies tho...best regards. and yes, you're free to flame me

That Bianchi is the definition of entry level. It's like the Honda Civic of fixies.

This. exactly... well said.. like a Honda civic with strictly cosmetic upgrades (sorry honda kids).

I felt the same way about the bike when I had mine.. to be honest, there are better bikes/frames to be had at this price point, and a bit lower... the upgrades don't exactly make it worth it either.

Regarding your build, provided you do nothing that can't be undone, you can do no wrong, daft maybe but not wrong.
