It seems a little sketchy but I don't see how it wouldn't work. Using a coaster brake has nothing to to with chain tension.

Regardless, that bike sucks.

Scrodzilla 02-24-13 09:47 AM

I can't stop laughing at this:

Unlike using a chain tensioner on a fixed gear setup, the amount the chain travels backward when engaging the brake wouldn't be enough to mess anything up.

I just don't understand the mish-mash of bull**** here. "Look at my expensive 'pursuit' frameset! No wait, look at how super aero my front wheel is! No, look at my big stupid fender and BMX stem!"

thewilson 02-24-13 01:46 PM

I'd rather ride this than that Kagero.

Function over form, the opposite of what this thread is about.

Yeah, I'd ride it. In other news, that's the front wheel I just got to replace the Rev-X. Worth every penny I paid, and then some (free).

calv 02-24-13 06:26 PM

You scored one for free? Nice. I think that's how Dave got his Aerospoke on his old 725.

There's nothing wrong with selle smp's.... they make quite a comfortable saddle.

why is the front light aimed approx 3 feet in front of the bike? may as well point it right at car drivers' eyes if it doesn't throw meaningful light (though it looks like it might)

I know it's geared toward TT but the adamo is the saddle I can't stand as far as physical appearances goes...

Wonder what attempting to ride it feels like.

hockeyteeth 02-25-13 02:31 AM

^^^We had one of those at a shop I used to work at. I could only ride it in a straight line. Every time I tried initiating a turn it would just tip over. I even tried loosening the kingpin on the truck to no appreciable effect.

The owner was always buying these bizarre bikes on eBay... We once had one of these old Nordictrack bikes that had a metallic band brake on this auxiliary rim and changed gears by enlarging the chainring:

At one point we also had a frame that was a rectangular steel beam with many holes drilled in it to place the BB, headset, and seatpost in a number of different spots. I can't find any photos of one. I really wish I had a picture of that crazy bike.
