Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm pretty sure I've seen that before but I'm also pretty sure it elicited the same mixture of nausea and outrage last time. What the actual ****.

he said that was the price he got from adding up all the parts he custom built himself. according to him he only got the mercier frame, everything else was custom built

Yeah, that Peugot is pretty nice.

Spoon, your name doesn't happen to start with an "A" and end in "o", does it?

That Peugeot seems legit to me. Saddle angle is a little weird and brake cable may be a little long but that is nitpicking.

So he machined his own parts from scratch? You'd think that'd cost less

That Peugeot is a nice ride. Owner clearly sits upright on the back of the saddle.

Seconded.

Is it bad to say I like the Bianchi aside from maybe the stack of spacers and half-link chain? It's a bit too eye popping, but it's very well executed.

It's not a Bianchi. It's a Visp with Bianchi decals.

Ah.. in that case, I'm out. Haven't spent enough time looking at Visp frames to tell the difference apparently.

I'm going to go ahead and throw my bike in the jackass thread. It's a mishmash of cheap online parts and crap I've pulled from the roadie as I replace parts on it.

I'm not sure what direction I want to go with it yet. I thought I'd keep the components black as I upgraded and throw in a blue highlight or two, but now I'm wondering if it'd look better with chrome parts. For what it's worth, I've considered stripping the paint but the green is growing on me.
