Freewheel Cog on a Fixed Hub

Is it possible to thread a freewheel cog onto a fixed-gear hub (not flip-flop, just one side threaded for a fixed cog and lockring)?

I apologize if this is a dumb question.

There is no problem with it at all. That is why if you are getting a double sided hub you should get fixed/fixed.

Yep! It took me awhile to figure this out, but it's completely true. Fixed/free is rather pointless, as fixed/fixed is essentially free/free if you so desire.
