IRO status
Hello all,
I recently wrecked the Alien frame I was on for about 5 years. So I wanted a solid 1" threaded steel frame. I remembered from way back that IRO had one and had a good reputation. I saw the Angus was only $199 and they had my size, so I ordered it.
I hadn't heard about the problems they've apparently been happening. I spent some time searching around the forum for information about IRO. I see that others were having problems submitting orders and getting feedback from them.
I was having the problem submitting the order too, but I was able to get it to go through. But it has been a day and the paypal payment hasn't been picked up?
Are these guys operating? Should I just cancel my order and look for something else?

The site is still up but considering the last post on their facebook page is from May 2011, I would say they're kaput.

The order confirmation they sent to me is also flagged by gmail as potential phishing. Could be bad:

Nothing to worry about here. I got nervous for no reason.
They updated me, said it's in progress, and even offered to put the bottom bracket in for me free of charge.
Seems like the same great customer service they had a reputation for in the good old days.

I just bought an Angus frameset from them back in January. I believe they are selling remaining stock sadly. Processing was a little slow and their contact us feature and phone number are dead. I had to contact them through their eBay store. But with all said and done, I got my frameset safe and sound.
I am loving the Angus. It's sad to see IRO go after seeing how great there products were...

I just hit him up on ebay to see if he's got any 57cm framesets kicking around. It's good to hear that he's still got inventory, though I'm puzzled as to why he's not selling any of it.
