Today I rode a little, played the trumpets and the bugle, which I have figured out.

Today my sqrl is coming up from SD tonite for the weekend to keep my company. What to cook when she comes back after driving some-odd 7+ hours?
Still contemplating, luckily I live in a neighborhood that's nice enough for a 24 hour safeway.

Also, regarding Canon, I'm still rocking the 20D! Good stuff! Too bad it's worth like $50 now.

Doesn't matter; date the body, merry the lens.

Don't worry, I dream of having (all want, don't need it at all) a D4 with a burst rate of 10 fps paired with a blazing fast memory buffer to boot. It's the machine gun of DSLR's.

Today I weighed my Fuji and it comes in at 42lbs with the pannier, flat kit, and lock. Good stuff, now I can really shame my friends when out climb them.

Instead of upgrading from my d3000 to d5100, I really wish I had bought a decent medium format like a Pentax 645 :(.

Mumonkan 09-06-13 11:47 PM

once i started using a hasselblad i didnt want to use anything else, its just so ****ing good i cant even stand it

FTFY

They're a complete joke now for cameras we're meant to consume. Complete lack of new in house R&D. Especially for the consumer market, which makes up the vast majority of any camera company's revenue stream. Whatever they do have on the consumer range is butt ugly designs at a near impossible 1% premium. Contractual obligations with sony limits hasselblad to past - gen/ non-flagship cameras only.
In foresight, they're current business plans benefit sony more than them; i.e. sony is always a step ahead, if sony's goods are nice enough to be considered by hasselblad, that's good enough for me.

If there was a camera jackass thread, all of their most recent consumer offerings would go into it.

Leica has pretty much dominated the German camera market.
They're not a poster child either, they've had their own dealings w/ panasonic but that actually brought good fruits of labor aside from that one outright rebadged compact camera being the rotten apple out of the bunch.

Haha, I have a Pentax K1000 that I haven't shot with in a couple years. I always wanted to learn how to develop but seems like a lot of crap to have to buy, set up, and store.

Not only that, but twerking has been part of the New Orleans bounce scene for 20 years. Look it up.

Today I am marrying my best friend in the whole world.

Even though Angie & I have been referring to each other as "husband & wife" for several years now, we're finally making it official surrounded by close family and friends. It's going to be a great day.

Yeah, Pentax has always been the common man's affordable camera. I still have my K1000 body, but haven't used it in decades. I was still using my ME Super up to ten years ago, but have now gone digital with an 6m istDs and six months ago I treated myself to an awesome 16m K-5IIs, which can leap over tall buildings in a single bound. It takes fabulous photos in all lighting conditions. What I like about the Pentax 35mm format digital cameras is that I have backwards compatibility to my older lenses, although I do have to use them in manual mode and lose the auto focus. Also, Pentax is compatible with other affordable lense brands, such as Vivitar.

Congrats!! *throws cooked rice at you*

Whoops! That was supposed to be UNCOOKED rice, wasn't it? Sorry for it sticking to ya, my friend!

jpsawyer 09-07-13 07:21 AM

Film cameras are the best. I have too many that I dont know what to do with. Been shooting a lot with my Mamiya RB67 and my Graflex. Film is more rewarding a medium, but the digital technology out right now really makes it even more obsolete than it was even a few years ago.
