This weekend I had too much fun. I was actually glad to go back to work today, to get a break from all the fun. Went downtown for Mudbug Madness (an annual crawfish festival), and came across this:

They were having the USA Collegiate Wakeboarding National Championship this weekend. I had no idea that was a thing, but wakeboarding is cool so I stopped and watched for a bit. By the way, yes, that is the actual color of the water. It's not called the Red River for no reason.

Crawfish is good, but 3 pounds is not nearly a substantial enough meal for all the beer that was consumed. I was 3:00 am drunk by 6 in the afternoon.

This guy did a juggling show. Something tells me he could do some pretty impressive trackstanding.

Today I swapped bars with my friend, 38cm nitto rb021. I really like the look of pursuits but I'm not sure if my hands will be comfortable on the tops (where I spend most of my time). So far there is a lot of pressure near the base of my thumb. I have them angled down to hopefully reach the outside of my palms, if that makes sense? Any tips would be nice, is the narrowness a factor?

Yeah, I talked to my other subie buddy who works at a shop and he said I don't need a turbo timer for the same reason you mentioned.

I really didn't like the feel of RB-021 FWIW. I think they were too narrow and my hands didn't like that.

Um. Want. X5000

Welcome to the subie brotherhood.

fwiw, I have a turbo timer. Can't hurt and the gas it 'wastes' is completely negligible. Bonus, it has a pretty good engine bay temp reading.

All this car talk on a bike forum?

Can we please get back to the regularly scheduled programming of kilo tts, clipless vs. clips, and which brakes are best for skidding?

Nagrom_ 05-28-13 03:04 PM

You mean guns? We should talk about guns. And knives. And meat.

And cars.

seau grateau 05-28-13 03:18 PM

Today I'm not sure if I'm slightly tan or really dirty.

Last night I had a dream where I was riding in a state where carrying a firearm was legal, so I had a handgun holstered on my back, visible to the cars driving by. It was a serene dream, and I was bothered by nobody as I rode through traffic.

Then I woke up and realized I live in Canada, and don't own a gun. :(

Carrying a handgun is legal in most states. OPEN carry is only legal in a few.

Climbed Hawk Hill fixed again this weekend, was much easier than the first time. Except now my knees hate me.

Interesting. What is the difference? I thought it was more difficult to get permits to carry a CONCEALED weapon.

SpeshulEd 05-28-13 04:06 PM

In AZ, as far as I know, you don't need a permit to carry open, but do if you want to conceal it. I don't know the laws that well because I'm not really a gun guy. See lots of redneck ******bags carrying while they're shopping at costco though. Guess ya never know when you're going to have to take someone out over economy size ketchup.

Be happy you live in Canada, you're much better off.

iTripped 05-28-13 04:53 PM

Heh, I am, generally. The sad face was only because when I woke I realized I was having a 'power dream' and that it was just a rainy Monday.

Nagrom_ 05-28-13 04:54 PM

I have more guns than your local police station.

'Merica.

Ever ride with one?

Dammit we really do need a 'like' button!

cc700 05-28-13 05:08 PM

i was going to say the wrx doesn't need a turbo timer.

Nah, not old enough to open carry a pistol in CA, and It'd be too cumbersome to carry a rifle or shotgun of course.

Handsome Dick needs a gun rack.
