Today I woke up to a frigid house, and had to switch my thermostat from cool to heat. Adios, verano.

How was Halloween? I'm out in Vegas to see King Diamond tonight. Last night was just a gisnt party but I had to cut it short because I feel a slightly ill. Some whiskey should clear the throat ache.

Today I had a cigar. A fresh cohiba straight from Cuba to celebrate a friend turning 40. As a non smoker it was an interesting experience.

I recovered my stolen Leader.

Leader LD 721 TR [STOLEN] - Pedal Room

Was locked up in a public transportation center, inside. Serial # filed off. Contacted local police, and ended up putting my lock over my bike with the police leaving a note for the guy to contact the police by thursday.

By thursday, its mine. If he contacts the police before then, then police said I'll probably have to take this to court.

Nice!

Very nice! Hopefully someone reminded you that cigars aren't inhaled, otherwise it could have gone from "interesting" to room-spinning awfulness. ;)

Nah, it was all good. It did mean I had to do a load of laundry today though to wash the smell out of my clothes.

That's a sentence I am jealous of.

This weekend I started polishing the hubs for the Fuji. Got the front one done.

I just finished a quil stem for a Townie build a couple days ago. I don't envy you doing those hubs man...all those tiny nooks and crannies. Yikes. Looks good though.

Carcosa 11-03-14 01:46 PM

^ Pics!

It really wasn't that bad to be honest. Took maybe 20 minutes. I haven't dived into the holes much and don't know if I will. In hindsight I wish I would have pulled the cog off the rear hub before taking the wheel apart.

hairnet 11-03-14 02:01 PM

Those old Sunshine hubs are real nice. Good work.

Today I ended up riding my friend's bike around for a little bit, and he has on some 90 mm-depth wheels... it's a windy November day. Twas not the most fun dealing with that on the massive wheel profile.

Co-worker said it's mustaches only, not beards. I argued that it was the full Das Boot treatment, beards and all. Not that I have the ability to grow either very well.

Pretty sure he would be totally wrong. I'm normally always mustached with minor beard but now is when I let the beard go with hopes of needing to comb it. Not that manly yet. Someday tho. .
