Fools gold is still gold, it all comes down to perception ;)
But it's endorsed by Palin and joe six pack.

Also, I just remembered that I should probably start looking for christmas presents.

Homeless guy tried to stash a stolen wheel in their normal shoot up spot on my works parking lot. I went out and snagged it, hopefully someone replies to my CL ad.

Not really, 27" cr18 but well taken care of and on a sealed bearing hub. I'm just tired of all the bike thieves in this town, just about every day I see some homeless guy walking with a wheel in his hand our rolling around on a spray painted road bike.

You did the right thing :)

iTripped 12-11-14 06:52 PM

We had a homeless guy under our office the other day and his mountain bike looked way nicer than mine. I was jealous.

GENESTARWIND 12-11-14 08:37 PM

You should have traded him plus cash, he'd have money and not notice the difference or cared plus he would have cash for booze and food and a well taken care of bike that is less likely to get stolen from him.

And no good deed goes unpunished. I was riding home and a pedestrian walked out directly in front of me, I tried to dodge and grabbed a little front brake but it was on chestnuts so it washed out. Hit the ground, slid like ten feet and got up laughing. Winter clothing rules.

Got close to finishing packing for my trip to Texass tomorrow. Hopefully going to hit up Mellow Johnny's and see if Lance will fix my flats ; ) I do plan on checking them out and eating my weight in really good tex-mex and buying a bunch of vinyl records (those big smelly black discs that have music on them in your parents basement) I wish I could take my bike but I really don't have the interest in boxing it and Amtraks don't have the bike cars yet.

Did the pedestrian say anything? Apologize?

Either way, you get +10 karma points.

What did that cost you if you don't mind me asking? Thinking about doing my steamroller in a similar color.

bmwjoe 12-12-14 01:53 PM

It cost $75 for a plain color. The bike was completely bare and degreased. I also masked one of each of the drop outs the way I wanted them so he had an example to go by.

Yeah, she knew it was her fault, she told me "thanks for saving my life, even though I caused it". I did notice that I have a small hole in my new water proof jacket, that's really annoying.

Fast Folks is another cool one to hit up, All Vegan eats too, including pretty ok breakfast tacos.

Been thinking about buying a plane ticket home to go watch CX Nationals.

bummer.

I have a Shower's Pass jacket that is pretty effective at keeping my torso dry.

Leukybear 12-13-14 01:49 AM

Speaking about the rain and waterproof jackets, I finally got to break out my new north face jacket that I saved for the past half year.
It was 70% off at the grand opening of the north face outlet at las americas.

johnnytheboy 12-13-14 10:27 AM

arc'teryx beta ar jacket

Huffandstuff 12-13-14 01:42 PM

I could buy me a kilott for the price of that jacket. I'll stick to finding warehouse sales and sub fifty dollar jackets.

Today I brought in my piece for the final day of my metal art class.

Helly Hansen Loke is my favorite sub-$100 (on sale) jacket.

gotta $5 thrift store Red Ledge now and it sucks. Only good for about 20 mins of rain riding.
