Grabbed some along with thorn resistant tires, luckily there is no such thing as a hill here. Did a 16 mile ride with 300ft of elevation change , so epic

TMonk 01-13-15 04:19 PM

Canned my ride this morning, I felt like total crap. I had intended to do a fairly tough workout (an hr at ~85% FTP with a 20" sprint every 5', no recovery), but shut it down after the third sprint or so. Later at work I have low energy, sore-ish throat, and left early. Additionally, I think I slightly pulled something in my right hamstring during one of the sprints, probably due to insufficient warm-up. Yay me.

I'll be taking it easy the rest of the week. I expect to feel better by the weekend, when I would like to race Rosena Ranch on Sat, and do a long ride on Sun.

So I threw a izumi v super toughness chain on my paddywagon without swapping out the philwood cog. What a mistake it was.
Quite literally riding a chainsaw.

Might want to try running tubeless and Stans. Seem to be a viable way to keep rolling in Goathead country.

Still haven't sold a bike I need(want) money :(

Tubeless is awesome.

Nagrom_ 01-13-15 10:11 PM

Woke up around 4am vomiting blood yesterday. Got out of the ER around 2pm with a diagnosis of acid reflux and a prescription for essentially ****ing tums. Got appts with specialists tomorrow and the day after.

Life.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you feel better. There are pretty good meds these days for treating Acid Reflux.

Bummer. Hope you get it sorted out.

I installed new plugs and wires in my Ford Ranger and holy hell it runs about 100x better now. Almost completely eliminated my preignition pinging. Now I have to redo the whole front end: ball joints, tie rod ends, shocks, swaybar bushings, etc.

Cars, man... Why?!

They didn't really know what was wrong so they were really just trying to get me out of there I think. I'll get an actual diagnosis from the gastro doc.

Thanks HT.

What year? First learned to drive stick on a Mazda B series, a rebadged Ranger.

2000, 2.5L 4-cyl. It actually gets decent mileage, like 30 MPG highway. I plan to hang on to it for as long as possible.

Good luck. Had something similar to that but out the other end. Normally don't have to get a colonoscopy when you are 25 years old. That was an expensive treat. Crones ain't no joke

which series? pre-7700?

Went from 105 5500 to DA 7403

For starters, even the brake pad hardware and adjusters weighed more... but beefier.

Is this a documented problem? My dad's Torelli has both of those and it is indeed like riding a chainsaw.

Think switching to a Dura Ace cog would fix it?

bro 01-14-15 10:22 PM

probly ya

TenSpeedV2 01-14-15 11:45 PM

Won an eBay auction. Pictures, they will be coming. :)

There's a reason philwood isn't NJS certified

Yeah DA should be no problem. I ended up swapping it for a chrome 17T EAI cog I had lying around.
The ride is unusually quiet now.

Nagrom_ 01-15-15 12:33 PM

The bead is failing on my rear pasela. These tires suck.

At least they're so cheap they're essentially disposable.

I used to own a blue B2200 standard cab, short box. I still regret the day I traded it in for a sedan. I can't remember the year - it might have been a 1998?

Ever seen one of these? '74 Ford Courier. Japanese made Ford.

iTripped 01-15-15 01:29 PM

Haven't seen that as such, but all of the Rangers have been Japanese made ever since they teamed up with Mazda. At least, up here in Canada. My brother did have an older body style Mazda pickup though that looked very similar.

Today I'm thinking about stripping my caad so it has a bare aluminum frame.
