with 100% chance of rain from now until the evening, I'm not racing today.

instead I get to put myself through a 3-4hr road ride instead. yay.

I only recently have become really annoyed at this statement. If it's 100% there is no chance. Weather verbiage is the worst. I catch myself repeating phrases like that often.

Today I am making turkey chili. Also walking my dog since it is finally hovering around the freezing mark.

I'm suffering from severe upgrade-itis due to too much bike staring and not enough riding.

Scrodzilla 01-11-15 01:30 PM

Today I made machaca con huevos and ate way too big of a breakfast.

I need in on that support group :( I have way too many builds floating around in my head that aren't ever going to happen.

Hey, if pro cx racers won't ride in the rain, then neither should you.

After a bunch of head ache inducing calls, reunited with my bike now. I was starting to hope it was gone for good, since I was already trying to work the numbers on a thunderdrome build.

TMonk 01-11-15 06:14 PM

My road ride was enjoyable. I was going to ride either way, but driving and paying to ride (race) isn't my cup of tea if it will be dangerous or not fun.

I decided last night that for aesthetic reasons, my stem should be perfectly horizontal. Which means I need:

a new 17 degree stem
bullhorns with no drop
and I better get some cooler brake levers while I'm at it; when in reality my current handlebar setup is perfectly fine.

Nevermind the fact that I'm already planning to buy/bought:
new cranks and BB (installed this weekend)
Phils x Archetypes
SSM Concor saddle

I have about 4 mountain bike builds and maybe 6 road builds that are all probably feasible, but would absolutely kill my wallet.

Speaking of the rainy rides today, my arch nemesis, slippery crosswalk paint, tried to pull one on me as I was making a corner downhill.
Nearly laid down my venge for the first time today.

Front wheel, or rear?

Got a package in the mail earlier than expected, so I set up the new cockpit for the Shogun -- Nitto quill and B115. Need to decide on bartape now.

Gonna be nice to get this one back on the road.

I see nothing wrong with this. 25.4 or 31.8 bullhorns?

26mm currently, I should switch to 31.8.

I only wanted bullhorns with no drop. Bought a Bontrager Race bullhorn bar from a friend, and ended up buying another on sale at the Trek store online because I like it so much.

Big fan Profile Design bars myself.

Leukybear 01-13-15 01:07 PM

Swapped out some modernish 105 calipers with some period correct DA ones on one of my bikes; ended up adding weight. The trickle down effect is real.

Nagrom_ 01-13-15 02:26 PM

Put in an order for parts to Towniefy the sqrls mixte.

Gonna be sweet. Even sweeter at under a hundo.

Huffandstuff 01-13-15 03:09 PM

Hating my life right now, brought gp4ks out to Arizona and I'm just being destroyed by goatheads. Rode maybe sixty miles and had two flats so far.
