Found the magic number of beers to drink before a cross race to not hate it. I also am in love with the Michelin muds, so much traction.

I usually have a High Life about an hour before my race, do a pre-ride, have some Skratch, and go race. Works well for me.

I had the Michelin Muds and wasn't a huge fan. What are you coming from? I found the Clement PDX to be much more grippy, especially after I went tubular.

Dropped my bike off for a new chain and 120mm origin8 stem

I was coming from some specialized houdfanizle or something, they had pretty weak knobs, more of a tarmac/gravel tire I think. I just know I was hitting the off camber sections at full speed without fear of sliding out, just point in a direction and pedal.

today i rode to work after almost a year lapse of being a lazy sack of ****.

rubberlegs.

i also need a bigger bag, i think its finally time to put in for my custom freight baggage

Nice. That's definitely a big improvement. Pointing in a direction and just going for it is one of my favorite things.

Today I finally got to see a specialist about reconstructive surgery. I (probably) won't need plates in my face! Woo! Tomorrow I see the oral surgeon to see how much work my mouth needs to have.

I couldn't stay for the SS/B race, did it tack up pretty good? I went with the Cs in the morning and it would have taken studs or something to actually ride that off camber section. I barely stayed on the bike most laps, much less put any power down.

Bicycle powerslides/burnouts are fun though, first time I've ridden where it's so slick I could actually keep the rear end drifting through a couple pedal strokes.

That sounds like so much fun, but I imagine the skill it takes to keep the bike upright when it is riding on the raged edge of control.

Today is my birthday, so I chose to take the morning off at work. The CEO is Canadian and hates America, otherwise it would be a holiday.

This morning I slept in and rode for a few hrs. It's quite nice out. Up next: half-day at work, then some b-day beers with coworkers. Tonight the GF is taking me out to dinner.

Yay me.

prooftheory 11-11-14 02:23 PM

Happy Birthday! Also, I'm pretty sure Canada celebrates Armistice Day.

Dannihilator 11-11-14 09:02 PM

Today I got in 30 miles and gave up on green colored parts, back to black.

Happy Birthday Tmonk.

Huffandstuff 11-11-14 09:10 PM

The ss/b race was nice and sticky, it was perfect for me. Sloppy enough that roadies couldn't handle their bikes but not so muddy that I had to baby it the whole time.

Haps birfday Tmonk.

Carcosa 11-11-14 09:41 PM

Congratulations on being born on this day in the past Tmonk.

Today I hung out with crazy old man that makes brooms by hand in the shipping container behind his trailer in the middle of nowhere.

He was pretty awesome. My job is weird.

Nagrom_ 11-11-14 10:49 PM

Maybe I got used to tubeless race tires at 75 psi on wide ass rims, but these pasela PTs suck.

Slippery as hell.

Never used a pasela pt.

Perfectly happy with michelin lithiom 2's.

we have Canadians have remembrance day today.... only the banks have the day off, and government workers

Leukybear 11-12-14 03:38 AM

Selling my car, so many lowballers.
I still snicker when I reply that it's bone stock when in fact it was completely the opposite and I just spent the last week swapping out all the goodies back to stock.
Looking back its pretty amazing how despite all SDPD crackdowns it has 0 ref tickets on its books.

Actually, it varies by province. BC has a day off, Ontario, it's only people in federally adminstered places. Haven't lived in any province so I don't know what the rest do.

GhostSS 11-12-14 06:56 AM

I had to work today. While driving around town I noticed a unusually large number of people biking when it dawned on me that most people have today as a holiday. Unfair. WTF.

Muffin Man 11-12-14 09:58 PM

Two flats yesterday. Sick and tired of tubes man.

jlafitte 11-13-14 08:04 AM

Dreamed I had a flat, then woke up. Last night.

Lol I would say you're used to the race tires and that Paselas aren't really roadie tires for your Caad. They were excellent for easy riding and dirt roads in the wider sizes.

Nagrom_ 11-13-14 09:30 AM

Yeah, pretty sure it's me then, cause everyone usually raves about them.

Hopefully I get a ton of miles out of them then.

Cynikal 11-13-14 09:48 AM

Tomorrow I taking a little road trip to pick up a frame jig. The next year should be really fun.
