Going to LA for the next couple of days to ride with a couple of friends down there. Hope it's warmer than Norcal right now.

Thanks for posting that.

IMO Epecuen is still the most beautiful. I'll call it Malick to your Anderson. ;)

But that new one is the craziest most dangerous riding so far. He's NUTS!

sbdark 12-13-15 09:34 PM

That sounds wrong to me. In your pics it looks like the spokes are threaded into the nipples far enough that I can't see any exposed threads. And the wheels need tensioning and truing still, right?

Turns out that the guy who said it has never seen short nipples before. I asked about it with another guy who was truing my wheels and he said it's all good.

60 - 70 degrees in the mornings and some wind. 48 degrees in the really early mornings

Today I rode in shorts and a jersey and broke a sweat. In Michigan. At almost the middle of December. 62°F today here.

Today I also made the switch to the drops while I am waiting for my riser bar. Might as well. #YOLO

Not my pic, but I am definitely considering the fork.

Day 77, thanks for asking. It's comfortable but looks wonky. I'll start walking with 10% body weight on the 28th. Six weeks of gradual increase to reach 100%. Then we'll know what's what as far as functionality.

Lacing was totally clumsy at first. I was following the Sheldon Brown guide, did all the trailing spokes first, then did the leading spokes on one side in the wrong holes so I had to do a little back-tracking. After I got into the pattern, though, it was pretty smooth sailing. Have to lace the rear wheel tomorrow. Tensioning and truing might be a whole nother story.

lacing the wheel is the only "hard" part, the rest is just making 1/8-1/4turns about 3000 times per wheel

patience daniel-san.

Got $8 tickets to see the Islanders play at the Barclays. I can't get over how cheap these damn tickets have been lately. They're really having problems getting people there. (Rangers fans need not reply)

Euthyphro 12-14-15 08:15 PM

Today I heard back from Knog about my warranty claim. The strap on my Knog Blinder Road rear light started to tear from regular use. I was pretty disappointed, especially because it's not a cheap light and I was a bit worried about the rubber strap from the time I made my purchase. But, Knog is sending me a new one without any hassle; I just had to submit proof or purchase and an image showing the problem. I'm quite pleased.

I was network administrator for the Islanders for a few weeks. Met Wayne Gretzky. Other than that was pretty much a yawn.

If you call them up and complain about something, that a worker knocked into you and got mustard from your hot dog on your clothes or someone yelled at your kids, they will send you some swag or free tickets. They had a lady there that's all she really did.

They will always break after time and if you get tired of dealing with it, just use a hair tye instead. Been using mine that way for the last 2 years.

It's stupid windy out. We left on a ride at 4pm to Chantry, and it was like 37 deg at the top with 30mph gusts of wind. My bike was completely sideways trying to not fall over.

Mumonkan 12-14-15 11:34 PM

for the first time ever, cali weather actually sucks.

sundays gravel adventure was 72°. ballin.
