Unless the tattoo features a bike.

Bike tattoos are gross.

Hey IamSam! I am definitely not giving up on the steamroller. The company I am with has requested my presence near one of the facilities back in TX. I've decided to turn the steamroller into a dirt machine with black components, knurly tires, and dirt drops for the many trails located near the area I will be moving to. Saving the nice components I had planned for the steamroller to be used on a road only fixed machine.

I had the Supercorsa Pista in mind, but couldnt justify the $2,000+ price tag. Saw the look AC 364, and thought it would be of comparable quality for 1/3 of the cost.. but boy was I wrong. As of now, the steamroller is the only bike on my stand. I would like to keep the collection down to two, but I am also interested in a touring bike for cross state/country rides with a few buddies of mine back home in TX. Dirt fixed, road fixed, and possibly a touring gearie. So.. only three, thats normal right? :P

Congrats - hope your transfer works out well...

I'm in the minority here but having reduced my own collection to 3 bikes - I think you're on the right track. I have my track frame bike that gets reinvented regularly to fit my mood, my ol' roadie which has fender/rack mounts and fits pretty wide tires if I want to go "adventuring," & my full-squish MTB. Covers every riding style or purpose I need.

I'm pretty sure I told you that before giving it to my son I regularly rode "our" Steamroller as a fixed MTB? I took it single-tracking so had risers instead of drops like your plan. If you're doing black bits on yours - that black chain I tried to give you is still available.

Stay well & ride safe...it was a pleasure doing bidness with you and if you'd care to meet-up for a ride before you leave - let me know...

ill call it "character building"

I helped out an amazing friend at work by doing this. Sometimes that is just what needs to be done.

Today I polished the Campy seat post I found on craigslist for $40. I used Mothers mag & aluminum polish, elbow grease and a microfiber detail pad. I'm doing better about taking before/after pictures, I think it turned out quite well.

I did the same with a used Phil BB I picked up. So satisfying.

That sounds wrong to me. In your pics it looks like the spokes are threaded into the nipples far enough that I can't see any exposed threads. And the wheels need tensioning and truing still, right?

Yeah, still no mtb on my end though, maybe if a miracle happens I can swing a mtb this year but I highly doubt it.

Nice! I got mine a couple days back.

Even though I got hooked up with a copy, it's a steal at $55 for all that's MASH'd inside. :thumb:

Lacing was totally clumsy at first. I was following the Sheldon Brown guide, did all the trailing spokes first, then did the leading spokes on one side in the wrong holes so I had to do a little back-tracking. After I got into the pattern, though, it was pretty smooth sailing. Have to lace the rear wheel tomorrow. Tensioning and truing might be a whole nother story.
