Well, did you buy it????

it looks awesome!

It is sweet but no, I didn't buy. They tried to get me to test ride it but I was in dockers and a polo. They tried to book me for a no-charge Guru machine fit session but I didn't bite.

The thing is $8000 and I've leaned not to get too worked up over shiny things like cars, bikes and such. It actually took control of my thoughts for a bit yesterday. I don't like that feeling.

Bloggage if you want to read about me nerding out on a bottom bracket.

Nice, I didn't realize Orbea had been around that long, I associate them with high en carbon bikes. Obviously the are popular in Spain.

They have been around a while since the 30s (though before hand building guns) and are a co-op part of the Mondragon Collective. They are pretty dope. I had a few customers with Orbeas and they seem to like 'em. Though I would love an old steel frame since I think they don't have any more in their line up.

It's cool to see a company go from near bankrupt to pretty damn successful because they were bought and run by the workers. Further proving the boss needs you but you don't need the boss!

Yes, I suppose.

Confession: I have the collector's gene. I'm currently using Phil hubs and BB and I've practically already convinced myself I need their headset that's supposed come out in 2016 and their seat collar. It's a sickness. At least I got to feel validated for buying the bottom bracket when I pulled the Sugino BB out I installed last January (3,000 miles) and found it had a rough spot in it.

Now now, don't lie to yourself, what you really need is their spoke machine and crankset.

I loved my old orca when I still had it.
Another worker success story is that of veloflex aka the old vittoria we know and love sans thailand.

Found this cool video of last week's mud bath. Won't embed cause it's slightly NSFW.

It almost looks like speed is irrelevant and the winner is he who falls down the least. Or he who can remount the quickest. :)

Today my legs are sore in the weirdest way I've ever felt, after doing a hilly metric century brakeless on Saturday.

Unkle Rico 11-23-15 02:28 PM

Nice! I wish I could have gone on that ride, Ruskin said it was rad!

Continuing with rehab I did a windy 38 degree ride. 21 miles and I can't feel my hands.

That looks like so much fun. I couldn't help but smile when I saw the kids riding, especially the one trying to get the bike over the barrier.

first winter mtb commute in the dark via singletrack, 36º with a lot of wind makes it feel like 28.

saw a bunch of possums, had a bat fly out an inch from my face, and saw either two girls making out sprawled out on the ground in the middle of the trail, or a female vampire feeding on a human girl
