Rode 16 miles of singletrack and worked on some technical skills. Its still disconcerting to me to ride on rocks.

Regretted riding in 105 degree temperatures almost immediately. Almost shed a few tears of joy a few hours later once I was a block away from home again.

i usually come in, strip down and lay on the bed spread eagle beagle with the ceiling fan on for 5mins then hop into the shower and use lukewarm water + bronners. so nice.

i totally understand....i've been mountain biking for about 6yrs and have hit some pretty technical trails in that time...
i won't hesitate to bomb down a decent hill at 40+mph on asphalt, but still get wigged out sometimes going over rocks at 7mph on a trail....

Finally found the time to turn most of the parts and frames I'd accumulated over the winter into complete bikes.

Veloce 9:

Not much here, but finally the right color tape and 6400 pedals:

Color!

Wish I was like 5" shorter. Highlighter yellow looks muted compared to this thing.

Finally got rid of the damn pedal creak! Didn't ride today though - other than to the end of the block and back. Will have to take the long way home tomorrow night to catch up.

Saw a couple with a matching pair of the target 85 dollar single speeds, phone was dead so I couldnt get a picture. Also, picking up the keys to the new house tomorrow so I can start spending my money on bike parts again.

Pretty sure I'm going to be buying a Kona Unit SS 29er from a friend. This is going to be sick and I can always gear it up if I don't like SS.

I'm trying to find out how much this thing cost originaly. Do you think $650 is fair or too high?

They start around $1000. The 2011 was around the same I believe as I had the same one, but got the employee discount so dont know the exat price it was worth. But depending on the condition I would jump on that. They are great bikes.
