Yesterday rode 5 miles in the rain to bar trivia with a buddy and we got second place. Should have gotten first, because the final, deciding question was a geography question, which is by far my best category, but I didn't know it. Still won $30 though, enough to cover our tab.

I avoided having to walk 12 miles home!
Earlier today dropped my keys down a crack in between an 800lb stationary safe and a wall. Only three keys on the ring, one is a house key, one is a laser cut key, the third is the key for the lock on my bike. I tried getting them out with all forms of implements with no dice. I actually seemed to make the problem worse and shove the keys farther down in the hole. While debating whether to call my gf for a ride and get grief or hoof it home and get a ride in the morning, I suddenly realized that my lock was only on my top tube and the wave form bike rack at our office is bolted to the ground. I had a wrench in my tool pouch which fit the nuts on the bike rack. One unbolted bike rack later - my bike is free and I can ride with the lock with problem. My gf would have been po'd. crisis averted. The only reason I even bother with the lock in this area is peace of mind, the chances of anybody stealing it are pretty long. I also realized that my "good guy, everybody loves him" boss who was fired last week was stealing from the company. I was reviewing bills that were submitted to our office this morning and realized that he was trying to get the company to pay his personal parking tickets. It's far from the shadiest thing I've discovered since he has left. I'm now starting to understand why he was terminated.

edit: oh and on topic of falling, goalkeeper and ultimate frisbee are great for learning how to hit the ground right. I played soccer for most of my life until college, and ultimate since highschool. Speaking of crashing, I nearly got right hooked two different times within five blocks. Doesn't rain for two weeks and then it rains and people forget how to drive, so annoying.

today I was banned from forum.retro-gression.com. By FAR the easiest, and least deserving ban I have ever received.
Apparently crank length has nothing to do with toe overlap/wheelbase, and it was such an idiotic idea that the thread was deleted! Dear JESUS!!!!!!!!! SO yeah, there's that. :lol: |
Today I rode clipless for the first time... I think I like it. Definitely easier to get in; getting out isn't really easier or harder, just different.

I ride a 49cm frame with a 28mm rake fork. I am a bit familiar with your topic. Crank length does have something to to overlap issues. But not enough to be of a concern. You won't solve any problems without going to stupid extremes. If you go from 175mm to 165mm arms you move your toe back less than a whopping 7/16 of an inch. I point my toe down to clear the tire for a slight turn and gain much more than 10mm clearance. I unclip for a sharp turn..............have to slow down anyway. In an emergency, I fall down. That's biking. Accept it or ride the bus. |
Today I'm pretty much fed up with the **** from the USPS. Really starting hope their financial bottom falls out and they become history. They will not be missed.

I had a package comming from Auorua (Denver), CO the next week. It left CO and went to Tampa!!! Five days for a Prioriaty Mail delivery. Sucks. |
