I don't know why you all have such bad luck with USPS. I ship a decent amount of stuff from the shop and I can only remember a couple packages sent to Brazil that got lost.

Today I laid the last ~300 sq.ft. of laminate flooring in the gf's house, about to make some wooden bike storage mounts, also got an engraved tag for the new kitten, Dingus, with contact info that reads "Bringus the Dingus!"

+1

Retrogression ships hundreds of packages a day and doesn't have that many problems with USPS. Yeah, the tracking is a little dodgy sometimes but in my experience UPS and FedEx aren't perfect either. People just need to be a little more patient.

Yeah, it's got a 50-50 chance to show up completely destroyed if sent via UPS.

Today I dirt jumped.

Mumonkan 06-26-13 07:44 PM

i still kinda miss the days of no tracking and surprise gifts from yourself

Me too. When I buy stuff online (which is quite often), I very rarely even look at the tracking info.

Today sneakerheads can suck it.
I need new gym shoes. Figured to try free roshes, sold out everywhere; found them all en masse on ebay with sneakerhead markup. FFS they're not jordans!!! :notamused:

Seriously.
It's pretty much pick your own poison.

IDK, I've received dozens of packages via UPS including bicycles, and not a single one was "completely destroyed." Occasionally something will be a bit dinged up, but never damaged to the point that it can't be easily repaired.

I pay for Priority service, USPS claims 2-3 day service. They claim it, I expect it.

You ship me pedals on 4/15/13, Monday................they make it to 30320 (Atlanta sort facility) Tuesday night. Then sit there until Sunday before the manage to get them the last 50 miles to my local post office on Monday morning.

I have a jersey shipped to me Friday EVENING from Seattle. It gets to 30369 (another Atlanta sort facility) where it sits for eight days and is finally delivered.

I am paying for a service..............2-3 day shipping. If it got to me in four or five days that would be no problem. 10 days for shipping would not be a problem................if I had not PAID for a premium service the USPS claimed to provide.

No refunds, reimbursements or other considerations offered. Failure for free.

It's like they think they are a doctor, the major difference is that they don't get to bury their mistakes.

Got tired of getting slammed around on my carbon stayed, aluminum bike, so I modernized the Merckx (never mind the low light, ghetto dungeon wall image, that's what I have for now... whoops):

http://i.imgur.com/Nx2Sl0hl.jpg

Swapped just everything but the post and saddle. And bar tape, I guess. 7700 shifty bits, 7800 cranks, 7400 pedals and 6500 calipers. It's SO much smoother than the mountaincycle.

E: I took no parts from the mountaincycle for the update.

it was pretty good. i'm not a movie critic but worth my $11.25 i guess.

every time i see the hubz on my top shelf i'm like omf i should sell, but every time i pick them up i am like hngggg.

i think new bibs, saddles, etc are more important at this point instead of dropping another $200 on top of what i've already spent for wheels i don't need.

See the movie before reading the book. I thought the movie was very disappointing. Book was really cool.

It's funnest when you order a bunch of crap at the same time and then when the boxes start to show up you get to guess where they came from and what's inside. It's just like christmas.

Honestly, I've had bad shipping experiences but they're few and far between compared to others on here. I think some of you with continued issues might want to contact USPS/UPS/FedEx and ask if there's anything you can do to make shipping process smoother - perhaps there's an issue with the way the address was filled out or something. I have no idea, but I never have these issues. In fact, the only issue I seem to be having lately is a needed signature that I'm not home to provide so I have to drive a couple of miles to pick up my package and sign for it.
