Finally got a day off and this weekend after working 8 days straight for 10/11 hours shifts. Woot!

Today I've ordered a few things for the wabi to turn it into a dedicated upright commuter. Can't wait.

Rode all the way to work with both presta valves open. My other greatest hits include 30+ mile rides with my front axle bolts finger tight on rough terrain.

I got a free bike yesterday! Cleaning out the bike coop and some dude who just graduated left it. I think I might fix it up a bit and sell it.

I can't close my mouth because the muscles are so swollen. I look like quagmire...

Today I had another garage flat. This time it was the front tire on my Salsa Colossal that I've had for over two years. It's the original tube and there was a pinhole on the inside of the tube near the seam. No sign of anything penetrating the rim tape, so it must have been a defect that gradually caused a hole to form. It was a rather small 18-23mm tube on a wide rim with a 30mm tire, so that may have contributed to the eventual failure. Usually tubes seem to fail at the base of the valve stem, where it's bonded to the tube. No doubt the rear tire will follow suit.

Continental tubes are 18-25 which might be slightly better, and they don't have seams IIRC. |

I have a really slow leak in my back tire, leaks down to about 20psi after about 10 hours. I need to change it, but I've been lazy.

Yeah, I've got a few like that. I'm ok with it as long as it lasts long enough to get my riding in. I'm in the habit of topping off my tires every day before I ride anyway.

Today I am nearly halfway finished with end-of-season tune ups. Over 100 bikes that need virtually all new cables/housing plus repacking all hedsets/hubs. So sick of Hardrocks and 3500s right now. But I have lots of beer left over from employees who have already left, and I'm leaving in a week!
